Place has got great ambiance and is well designed. Lately though, the place looks a bit old . Cushions on the seats are deformed, the interior design haven't changed in the past what, 10 years or so? I hope they spruce the place up because it is a Tacloban institution and the locals, like me, are proud of this pioneering coffee joint.
Coffee and food is all right. What makes the place stand-out is its being a hub for meet-ups and conversations of the locals.
Oh don't expect to surf well here, WIFI signal is very weak.

Comfy seats, huge drink selection (I don't drink coffee so can't comment on the quality), I had a watermelon crush thing which was nice enough.

Good, clean place where you can settle down for several hours. I'll be back definitely.

Food menu looked overpriced though and no Filipino dishes, but then I suppose they're targeting a certain clientele.

It has a nice, cosy and modern ambiance that clicks well with the newer generation and with a taste for chic. The variety of drinks available to customers are so wide in range, even the hard to please tongues would be satisfied with the options. Its not only their drinks/coffee/lattes that the customer can choose from. If they choose to they can nibble on a little something sweet that would complement the bitter aftertaste of the coffee. If you're there to simply read, you can get cosy on one of their unique sofa or couches available. Just be ready with a sweater/cardigan, though cos it might get chilly. :)

The interiors is so cozy and the coffee acceptable. I'm just disappointed with the cakes and pastries. The sansrival is not sansrival at all. It's so far from what we have here in Manila. The cheesecake is not also good.

Dropped by on a recent Sunday afternoon before flying back to Manila and for lack of other local coffee places to visit, the tricycle driver suggested this place. The resto is comfy and nicely-furnished but I guess it stops there. The coffee was tepid (sort of like flavoring plus a tiny bit of coffee), the cakes were just dull and blah. The mango creme cake is all frosting and fluff while the sans rival is soft and mushy, the butter was, pardon the pun, not buttery at all. The pesto pizza was lovely to look at as it was served on a wooden board but the crust was hard, the texture resembling toasted cardboard. I wouldn't be as critical if the offerings weren't priced as much.
