Damn nice and lovely hotel! Great location - not far from the beach, supermercato is near hear - in 2 min. Some restaurants is near hear - in 1 min, but the best one is restaurant right on the Piazza Trieste. There are really big rooms in this hotel - as in website of hotel. Very unusual for Italy, and very nice!
Hotel is located in quiet place, so nothing will not dusturb your night sleep.
Oh, and very friendly people are working there. I love all of them - Nataly (so amazing girl!!), Anna (i wish to be as thin as she :-) ), Francesco (so friendly and smart!!). They will do all, to make your holidays nice.
Good breakfest with not only sweets, but also with sausage and cheese. For some people, who dont like obly sweet croissants on breakfest it will be inportant i think.
The beach is not big, but it is clean and the sea is nice :)
And some things what i need to tell about S.Marinella. If it is hight season - in weekend there are a lot of people from Rome come there, and if you'll come to the beach not in the morning, you can not find free place on the beach. So - my little advice - the best time to come to S.Marinella's beach is not weekend, or if weekend - in early morning. By the way, in the evening on Sunday there is market on the waterfront (max 10 min from hotel). May be you will not by anything, but you'll get engoy from watching and walking there.
I love this place and this hotel, and people. We've spent there nice time in this summer.

We spent our last two nights in Italy at Hotel L'isola. Many others appear to spend a first or last night. We are glad we stayed two. My wife and I had been in Umbria for nearly two weeks and had a fantastic time. Looking for a place near the Rome airport (an easy 45 minutes away), we landed on this hotel. It is a complete charmer.
S. Marinella is a very lowkey, resort for Italians. It is not flashy and what beaches there are (and there's a small one just south of the hotel) are stone (actually, very beautiful stones). The town has a lot of character and people are very friendly.
The hotel is on a cute square in a quiet location. Our room overlooked the ocean and we had breezes and the sound of the surf. The room was clean, with a good-sized bathroom, very small sized shower, large, comfortable bed and good a.c. While there is no separate lot, parking nearby on the street was easy to find.
Breakfasts were adequate, if not lavish, and fresh. The front desk personnel were very helpful.
AND, after two weeks in Umbria we were porked out. The unrelated restaurant about eight steps away was recommended (along with some others) by the receptionist. It is L'acqua Marina. See separate review. The seafood was FANTASTIC.
This little (fewer than ten rooms) hotel was a great find and a wonderful way to start or end your trip to Italy. Not fancy, but highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel L'Isola. The hotel is perfectly located at the corner of a pretty square in the quaint seaside town of Santa Marinella. It is hard to imagine that the town itself is only a 40 minute drive from hustle and bustle of Rome. The hotel staff are really helpful and friendly. We arrived at 1am and the boss was waiting up for us and had a smile and a joke. Our airline had left one of our bags in London and the hotel staff helped call Al Italia several times to locate the bag. They also helped us find taxis and work out the best way to recover the bags. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a lovely view over the bay from our room. The breakfast was plentiful and in a nice breakfast room. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at L’Isola for two nights in April and found it to be an excellent hotel. Francesco was a great help and went out of his way to solve our traveling problems on Easter day. He spoke excellent English and treated us more as friends than as clients which was greatly appreciated and added a personal touch to the quality of this hotel.
The hotel is in a great location in a square just a few minutes from the train station and overlooking the ocean. Our room was spacious and clean and the free internet connection worked well.

Bottom line: Small hotel, quality facilities, personal and courteous staff, good breakfast included, very relaxed atmosphere.
