Once again, for the 2nd time in 2 years, Matthew came up trumps. Having been severely let down, we were incredibly fortunate to find Matthew had availability at the last minute.
As with his property in Kobarid which we stayed in last year, we found Carpenters Lodge in immaculately clean condition, immaculately furnished, with all the style and imagination that we had so loved last year in Kobarid.
Carpenters Lodge is a little bit off the beaten track, but its still in easy reach of the Soca Valley. It had beautiful views across the valley and towards the thickly forested mountains that surround it. Having stayed in the centre of a busy Kobarid last year which was fun, it was a lovely contrast to be staying in such a quiet, peaceful village where you could be forgiven for thinking no-one ever gets out of bed !!!!
The Lodge itself had beautifully presented bathrooms (both with views from the bath across the valley), cosy bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, and a snug sitting room that really deserves some freezing cold winter nights to enjoy it as its best.
All in all we loved it - and we'd go again like a shot !More
