Silo Art Trail

Fantastic silo art. Visited the 6 silos at Patchewollock, Lascelles, Sheep Hills, Roseberry, Rupanyup & Brim. Easily done in a weekend with an overnight stay in Hopetoun.

Absolutely amazing, there is no way that you could imagine that the various artists could scale the images the way the have. The detail on the faces and bodies, eg the eyes are so real. So worth the trip. We covered 6 of the silos from Patchewollock through to Coonalpyn in a little over 400km.

The Silo Art Trail in the Yarriabiack Shire is a must see tourist trail. We started our tour from the top at Patchewollock and went on to see the other silo murals at Lascelles, Roseberry, Brim, Sheep Hill and Rupanyup before heading west and ending in Horsham for the overnight stop. These murals are amazing works of art! The pics don’t really do the art work justice. You must go and follow the trail yourself.
You can only just wonder how the artists were are able to paint these figures on such a large scale, some 20m or more tall whilst standing on an extension ladder or bucket hoist.

Well worth the detour if you appreciate art in all its varied forms. Quite impressive. Needs better signage as turn offs are easy to miss.

They really are quite the spectacle, a must see. Out in the middle of nowhere rise these works of art on a mammoth scale. The little towns along the way with friendly locals. I stayed overnight at the Mallee Bush Retreat in Hopetoun on Lake Lascelles which is run by volunteers like Susie, I slept in one of the silos which was very comfortable with aircon and power to recharge phone for the next days worth of photos. It truly was a great experience highly recommend
