I booked Cave Damianos Restaurant after looking at other reviews. So happy I did, if you're looking for something extra special and earn yourself brownie points this is the place to go! I booked via email the staff couldn't have been more helpful, everything was organised for our arrival, flowers, champagne, music. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic with amazing views in a beautiful setting. Many thanks to Maria and all of the staff

The location, views, decor and atmosphere are perfect. Having not made a reservation we were lucky to get the last remaining table out in the terrace. Parts of our experience were lovely, whilst others were mediocre.
The staff team could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional. We were offered an amuse bouche of homemade tomato gazpacho which was flavoursome. There were a few gaps in service where I assume the kitchen got its timings in a mix. For example, there was a long wait between our individual starters being served. Serving staff improvised and brought sharing plates which was fine for us. It wasn’t until the second starter plate was delivered after some time that an apology and explanation was offered. The crispy rolls were great, and the frisssa made with local bread delicious. We were quite full after this and the long wait for the main course was a blessing in disguise. The main courses were okay, whilst tasty the finesse on presentation given in earlier courses had not been considered here. After the meal we were offered a complimentary digestif of local liquor that was very tasty. Overall a nice evening.

I have mixed feelings. It is because we were there twice: in September and then in October, and the 2 visits had differences. Not in the location, because the view from here is spectacular. You should go there just before the sun goes down, because you can experience a fantastic sunset. The place is nicely decorated, and the owner (or the head of the waiters) is very professional. Both times, there was quite a big crowd, so the staff was very busy, which you can understand. My problem is with the huge difference in the quality of food between the two visits. In September, everything was fabulous, we left the place with a huge smile and with nice memories. I would rate that as 5 out of 5. However, when we went back in October, the food was pretty mid-range (if not even worse). It was as if the chef had left after September, or he/she had a bad day. I can not give more then 3 ouf 5. I hope, that was only a glitch because if you have such a great view then you should catch up with it with the quality of your food. Nevertheless, I can recommend this place. This is off the beaten track but it is worth going there. Take warm clothes since the temperature can drop in the evening!

The Cave of Damianos is a restaurant in an enormous place. Maria is a perfect manager with a splendid smile and she is very helpful for everybody. All of the personnel are very kind and eager to assist you. The menu is full of everything. What ever you want you can find it. The ribeye and the roast chicken are delicious. The prices are very good considering the place and the quality of the meal.
After the dinner there are stone sofas where you can enjoy the spectacular sunset and the serving desserts. Taste the panacota.... Just amazing.
Maybe the best restaurant in Zakynthos.

Staff was very attentive and the view was amaizing! Really love the whole environment of the restaurant! Food was ok, bit too pricey, but everything else compensated.
