Owner description: Island Mix is the home to over 60 St Lucian artisans and the only shop of its kind, featuring a collection of art, clothing, jewelry, pottery, food and snacks, carvings, home decor and much more. Most times you will find a visiting artisan or a class or two on our patio. We are situated in the heart of Rodney Bay along the loop road. Our view of the marina and bay from the patio just adds to the ambiance where we serve tea, coffee and a limited snack menu all made locally. New to our cafe is a daily lunch of curried chicken, lamb, beef or vegetarian A water front casual dining experience in Thursdays for fish and chips, yes with malt vinegar but no mushy peas. High tea is also an option but we ask for a booking 48hrs in advance. in addition, We have now added a room for visitors on airbnb.

This was such a pleasant surprise after eating at some of the bigger places. So nice to have a quiet place to sit and visit after the busyness of Rodney Bay. Simple menu, great art to look at while you wait, and the rum cakes, well we ordered one, then two EACH after we ate!

Fish fry on Thursday was just as fun!

Thank you Nadia and crew for the best experience of our week

I popped in looking for a gift for my son. There are some lovely pieces, paintings and jewellery, but not really enough. I had a nice coffee and the rum cake is excellent. There is nice seating outside with a view of the bay / marina. I like the concept but would love to have seen more artisan works for purchase.

Hi thanks for your comments about art work, I would really appreciate the feedback from you on what you would like to have seen so we can source such items for other visitors like yourself. We are always trying to improve and our artisans are very open to suggestions.
Hope to hear from you soon and thanks so much for bringing this to our attention.

Happened by chance to find Island Mix (behind The Big Chef Steakhouse) and highly recommend this shop for it’s wonderful selection of local artists crafts. My sister-in-law and I each picked up beautiful hand painted throw pillow cases and I also selected an interesting hand carved calabash piece. The artist himself showed me how light from a tea candle radiates through the sculptured woody gourd. Meeting and chatting with Nadia also added to the lovely experience of being in her shop. I only wish I had tried the rum cake. Oh well, another reason to return to Island Mix!

We discovered Island Mix a few months ago on one of our many strolling walks. Island Mix is not only a great place to discover local artists it’s also a place where you can hang out and have freshly made Fish & Chips every Thursday evening and delicious Guyanese Roti served with a refreshing Piton beer . The best thing though, has to be her totally addictive Rum Cake which we’ve become the expert tasters in. One complaint, you can never spend less than 10 minutes there once you start chatting with Nadia the owner and next thing you know you've been there for 2 hours enjoying the view, the breeze and your second rum cake!!! (:-)
Chris & Seb, still in beautiful Saint Lucia...

A lovely little spot on the water! The island’s best rum cake! Good coffee and rotis. Lovely local crafts and beautiful unique hand crafted jewelry! A must visit on a back street behind the Big Chef steakhouse. Worth searching out for a lovely experience.
