We stayed in a premium double room with AC and found the room to be ideal! The room itself is brand new and finished to a high standard. I think there is roughly 4 new rooms on each floor. Ever room has a balcony, our was big enough for several chairs and a table. Every morning the room is cleaned to a nice standard and left very well presented.

The staff at Zeus are their key asset, the hotel is family run and they truly are a credit to themselves. They make everyone feel extremely welcome and they learn everyone's name which is a very nice touch.

Breakfast is served until 10am (I think) and doesn't consists of an awful lot, mainly just breach, pancakes and/or eggs. Fresh orange and coffee is also available. The outside bar serves food throughout the day until late afternoon and is very reasonably priced. A Gyros and Mythos beer is only €7, so I wasn't complaining!

The hotel is approximately 3-5minute walk from the beach, albeit a nice tidy beach it's probably not the best in Kos. You can take a short bus trip, from the mini-supermarket across the road to a beach called Paradise Beach (€1.80 single ticket). This is potentially the best beach in Kos with a lot to do. It only takes 5minutes on the bus!

The main strip of restaurants in Kefalos is a 20minute walk along the beach where you will find a wide variety of family run restaurants. Having been to many Greek islands I probably wouldn't rank these amongst the best but they are perfectly fine nonetheless. From Kefalos you can get a boat for the day over to the volcanos island Nyssros which is 1 hour each way and costs €18 per person, once on the island you can either get an all day buss ticket for €7 or hire a car for €45-50 which we did and would highly recommend. The boat leaves at 10:30 and returns at around 20:00 so pack sun cream and water!

Hiring a car is simple you just need you driving license and to have been driving for over 2 years! There is a car rental place next door and they cost roughly €35-€40 a day depending on the car. Mopeds/Bikes/Quads/Buggies are also available however the roads are quite dangerous. Kos town is a 1hour bus or 35min drive away and definitely worth a visit!

Overall we had a great stay at the Zeus Hotel and believe the staff are a credit to the hotel. If returning to Kos and the Kefalos area we would 100% come back here. Thank you to the staff/family of the Zeus Hotel for making our stay very enjoyable!

Returned here for the 4th time and once again left with a heavy heart looking forward to returning soon. As soon as we walked in Nick & Manos were across welcoming us. Zack & Maria also appeared. Our room this time was upstairs (306). No complaints here and we liked the 'new' tiled shower room/toilet. As always the place is spotless and the pool is very clean. The Greek night was excellent and great value for 10 euros.
Sonia is a wee gem running the snack bar. She was just a toddler when we first came here. Breakfast is still the same as ever but we enjoy the fresh bread.
It is only a 2.5k walk up to the village of Kefalos where you can get a cold beer and look over the whole area.

Room Tip: Upstairs, either facing sunrise or sunset.

Zeus is a family run hotel where you are guaranteed to be looked after during your stay. Nikolas and family are truly awesome. The Greek night is not to be missed and the BBQ that comes with it was out of this world. We truly wanted for nothing during our stay and were always greeted by a friendly face. Both inside bar and pool bar are well stocked including John Smiths for those who fancy a taste of home. Nikolas and gang kept us topped up with Mythos throughout our stay but please ask him for a Mojito! It's divine! Aside from making Mojitos Nik appears to have another god given talent - that of remembering everyone's name. Something that truly makes you feel part of the place. If you have a family you will absolutely love this place as they couldn't do enough for the kids. Just please don't forget to send our love!

I had read all the reviews before booking and indeed up to our arrival and can only echo everything which has already been said. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We stayed in room 301 on the 1st floor. The bathroom and floors looked to have been newly tiled and were good quality. The beds were single and basic but not uncomfortable and our daughters bed was a camp bed which again was fine. There was a small balcony with table and chairs and clothes airer (bring pegs it gets very windy). The air conditioning is 5 euros per night (essential), and the safe was 25 euros for the fortnight. There is a hairdryer (perfectly adequate) and an iron in the room. There is a wardrobe (with a few coat hangers) and 3 tiny drawers. The pool is again spotless and though on the first week most sunbeds were taken by 9.00am we never failed to get them. Breakfast was served between 8.00am and 10.am at the outside snack bar and was, as previously described, bread, butter, jam, tea/coffee and orange juice - enough to put you on until lunchtime, though you can order full English, omelettes etc for between 3 and 6 Euros..The snack bar is great and we ate there nearly every lunchtime. A large Mythos is 3 Euro, gorgeous Greek spaghetti 6 Euro and a very filling tuna club sandwich with chips which 2 of us shared 5.5 Euros as a few examples. The Greek night was great fun - 10 Euro per adult and 5 Euro per child and was a BBQ with potatoes and veg brought to your table with a glass of wine and a small desert, This was followed by a quiz and Greek dancing. The bar is well stocked and gets lively. The main point though, as pointed out by most other reviewers is the friendliness of both the family who run the hotel and also the other guests, Many have obviously been before but do not make you feel like an outsider. All the family were wonderful but special mentions to Sonia and to Nikolas who were absolute stars. We will definitely be back.
As an aside we hired a car for 3 days from Manolis car hire - 2 minutes from the hotel which cost 110 Euro and we used 20 Euro of fuel. There are loads of Tavernas and bars (separate reviews) nearby but I have to disagree with the distance from the harbour - it must have been at least a 45 minute walk and we never actually got that far. We also went on the 3 island boat trip through J D Tours which was a fantastic day out - pick up from Jim's supermarket over the road. 30 Euro per adult and 15 Euro per child including lunch.
