We had spotted this place on the previous evening's expedition to find an open eatery but not in time to stop. So consequently we headed straight there when we discovered that the restaurant we had booked for dinner was shut!!! (Of course there will be a not quite so flattering review left for them).
We were the first people to arrive in the rather fancy dining room of this hotel, clearly aimed at businessmen. The waitress who spoke little English showed us to a table and gave us the only English menu they had to share. We were spoilt for choice - some dubious translations for sure, but with the assistance of google soon chose bresaola to start and a dish of ravioli each.
The food was delicious!!! The bresaola was perfect, and the ravioli (filled with octopus with a seafood sauce for me and filled with a highly prized Italian breed of beef for him) was truly delicious!!! The wine, a local Fallenghina, was the perfect accompaniment, and as we were driving they allowed us to take the remainder of the bottle home with us.
It was a pleasure to find good food at a restaurant that was open after an inauspicious start to the evening.

ps - I applaud the way the manager has responded to a previously left, negative review!!

We chose the hotel because of the nice looking pool area, but it was closed due to a wedding and we had nowhere to sit outside for a drink.
No staff spoke any english.
Hotel is close to a big road, which is kind of uncharming.
Dont know if it would have been a nice stay if the pool area was open, but we where definitely disappointed.

This hotel caters very well for both an overnight stay, or if you're fortunate, as were we, to attend a wedding. Situated and found easily 40 minutes or so from Naples airport, there is plenty of parking. A warm reception awaits, and the bar and restaurant cater well. The rooms are spacious and clean, with all necessary amenities. Staff are very friendly indeed. We were there for four nights, and visited Herculaneum easily - the same would apply for Pompeii. The wedding reception was stunning with the dedicated attractions and catering superb.

this hotel is rally only suitable for a stay over if your going to a wedding here as its just off a motorway theres no bus stops hardly any taxis want to work here so its hard to get a taxi if you want to go out
its not safe for you to walk to next village as its motorway and then the road stops, my husband tried to run a couple of time around here and either ran out of road or got attacked by wild dogs the reason we stayed here was we had a family wedding to go to that wasn't far from here
they only have got 7 sun loungers for the whole hotel so you never can find one so you can either lie around pool area on tiles or grass area but there's lots of ants
the breakfast was the same for the whole week we stayed there they served
variety of croissants, ham, cheese, yogurts baked tarts cakes, biscuits or bread for toast along with nutella and jam and thats it, so not healthy at all, the after noon and evening food was average too but cause you can't go anywhere you got no choice but to eat there, if you stay here i really recommend you hire a car, the staff were ok but not that friendly
its a very old fashion hotel apart from the outside of the hotel we had a family room for four of us there was 1 wardrobe and a few draws so hardly any storage for clothes 1 bath with over shower very plain no coffee tea or kettle in room neither so i don't know where they get there 4* from i'd say is just about a 3*

Room Tip: don't bother

Good morning, Mrs. MazziFami.
First of all, an introduction is due. Your reservation was part of a larger one (20 rooms for several nights) from just before August 15th (mid-August holiday). The rooms have been reserved by the bride’s family (the wedding was in another location).
Concerning our position and public transport, we are sorry you hadn’t been informed we are in the outskirts, surrounded by the green, at the exit of a state highway (not a motorway…you know, it’s different). Coming here from abroad without taking into account the necessity to rent a car is undoubtedly something we are not to blame. Actually, you told me you unsuccessfully tried to rent a car at the airport (Did you review the airport’s car rental shop too?) On August 14th you wanted to go to Pompei but every taxi we found was too expensive for you (personally, I believe Avellino is one of the Italian towns with the cheapest prices). At 8.00 PM you asked me to rent a car for you for the following day (August 15th : mid-August holiday). Personally one of the things I like the most is that Avellino is a small town and that’s why I really cannot blame our commercial network if car rental shops are closed in a non-working day as August 15th. I assured you would be able to rent a car the day after in the morning, moreover with a good discount thanks to our intervention. And that’s what happened, isn’t it?
Regarding the “jogging episode”, you also have to take into account our position. About the wild dogs you found while running, outside our property, it is really not our fault. Our hotel cannot be blamed for them, as it cannot be for the traffic, the not perfect condition of the streets…or for everything else happens in Irpinia as in the whole world.
Concerning the swimming pool, what I believe is that you were annoyed by the fact that, since our hotel hosts weddings and other ceremonies, several days the pool was occupied and so not open to the hotel’s guests. That’s why on Booking, Expedia, Hrs and so on, we clearly underline the necessity to contact the hotel before your stay to check the pool availability.
Thank you for the almost complete description of what we offer at breakfast. I wonder what healthier food you usually eat. I really like how you underlined our tarts are handmade.
About the restaurant (lunch and dinner) I remember what happened on August 15th. When I informed you the hotel’s restaurant was closed for dinner, you begged me to let you eat something. We arranged the opening of the lunch room and prepared what you requested, that is to say cold dishes since the kitchen was closed (big mixed salads). Then, at dinner, you asked for other things denying having agreed with me about the menu. But this is not the worst: we noticed you took the liberty to open our fridge with the packaged ice-creams and help yourselves. What do you think about this behaviour? Personally, I consider it negatively.
What you said about the room is hilarious. I agree with you that one room (even if spacious and with a big hot tub in the bathroom) is not the ideal accommodation for four people (your sons aren’t kids). But when you want to pay the minimum possible for your stay, that’s what happens…
Finally, your idea about the necessity to reconsider the Italian hotels’ * assignment basing it on the presence or not of coffee makers and tea kettles is really quirky. You are not that different from Italians who go to Germany and whine about having eaten bad spaghetti. What is the meaning of this criticism? You are not talking about air conditioning malfunctioning, cold or hot water problems, bad cleaning…no, it’s the absence of a kettle that makes us just a 3*.
I can say that you are one of the those people who have caused more damage to themselves than to their review’s object by writing on this website.
Best regards.

My fiancé and I stayed off here for one night on our tour of Italy, while driving between Sorrento and Venice. The hotel is beautiful and the staff couldn't be more helpful, the room and bathroom were very large and immaculately clean. There is nothing in walking distance surrounding the hotel so I would only choose it as a stop off and not a holiday destination. We used the restaurant which was good and the breakfast was adequate, the usual cheese and ham and cake which seems to be the norm in Italy (maybe just as well to avoid the new heath scare of cancer causing sausages and bacon, ha ha!!) We paid £94.44 for the night including breakfast and dinner so not a bad price. Overall I would definitely recommend this and I would stay again.
