We stayed for 2 weeks in February. Group of friends, ages 50-60. Loved every second of our trip and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

ROOMS: We stayed in King Loft #14. Lots of space, comfortable bed, pillows were a bit worn out, quiet. Room is exactly as pictured on website. Large water cooler in room. Beach towels included - just pick up at front desk. Room did NOT have a hair dryer, face cloth, tissues or shampoo. However, I think you can get shampoo and hair dryer at front desk if you forget to bring your own.

BEACH: fantastic! right in middle of West Bay beach - only 5 minute walk to get to either end of beach. sand is powdery soft. lots of beach chairs and no crowding. There are vendors that walk up and down the entire beach but they are polite and don't get in your space. Matthew has the best banana bread and loved the gentleman selling empanadas, too!

SWIM & SNORKEL: Swimming area right in front - soft sandy bottom, calm water, safe to swim in. Water is crystal clear. Very few fish in their swimming area but lots of fish if you walk 3 minutes down beach to your left. Go in water anywhere between Infinity Bay (where pier is) and the lifeguard stand and you will see lots of fish (parrot fish, angel fish, etc.). If you swim out deeper toward the buoys, you will see a lot more. I saw lion fish, reef squid, octopus, eels, turtle, crab, etc. in the deeper water.

RESTAURANTS: The staff are amazing - friendly, great service. You come as a stranger but leave as a friend. Thirsty Turtle had great food and drinks. Food $8 to $16. Beer $2 happy hour, $3.50 at other times. Other drinks $4-5 range. Pizza was fantastic! We didn't eat at Vintage Pearl. There is also a local restaurant (Arlyn's) immediately behind resort. Baleata for breakfast for $1 ... sooo good!. Local 'typico' lunch (meat, rice/beans, veggies) for $4-5. Lots of other great restaurants few minutes up the beach or the road so make sure you explore :-)

ENTERTAINMENT: There is live music on most afternoons. They have activities every night - live music, crab races & fire show, music trivia night, movie night, etc.

OTHER: There is a mini-market immediately behind resort - it's prices were generally cheaper than the one on the main road. Both are just a few minutes walk. There is also a shop selling water/beach toys and souvenirs just a couple minutes walk away
Taxi has fixed price of $30 from airport to West Bay, $40 if you want them to take you to supermarket on the way. Is 30-45 minutes drive.

The included breakfast is very simple and not much variety. There was always one dish with ham and egg (eg. omelette, slider, on a pizza) and one that was a sweet (eg. waffle, pancake, pastry). Fruit was always available. Milk, coffee, tea. Juice was made from powder most of time.

Note: the hotel has a MANDATORY 'charitable donation' that you have to pay in cash at end of trip = $2 for each night (so $14 for a one week trip, $28 for a two week trip). None of our group was very impressed by this - this is essentially another hotel fee in the disguise of a 'donation'. It should have been included in the price for booking our room since it is mandatory.

Look no further for a group to dive with in Roatan. Bananarama Dive shop is full of great people. Professional, skilled, safety oriented, enthusiastic and very fun. The DM’s and Captains all care about you and what they do. DM’s are always finding interesting underwater creatures. My old eyes can’t always find the little stuff but Lanita makes sure I never miss anything.
This is the 3rd year in a row we have chosen to have our dive holiday at Roatan (Tortuga Beach House @ West Bay Village) and walk down the white sandy beach to our daily morning adventure with Bananarama Dive Shop. It’s been a privilege to dive at Roatan Marine Park. See you next year.

Loved it. Went expecting a cool three star and it delivered. For what we paid and the location it was excellent. Rooms basic and clean. Included breakfast at about the same as mcdonalds. Great cool place with an awesome view and access to tourist amenities.

Room Tip: Bring bug spray and a relaxed attitude.

We visited West Bay for several days and ate it Bananarama several times. The restaurant is right on West Bay beach which is the best beach on the island. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were good. The ambiance at the restaurant is great and when the cruise ships are in the place is really hopping. When visiting West Bay don't miss a visit to Bananarama.

I don’t know where to begin! First time visitors to Roatan. We typically spend 2 weeks in the BVI’s but the hurricanes destroyed them this year. We are a family of 4 with 2 kiddos ages 7&10. We also bring my mom to enjoy vacation with us and so we can enjoy some nightlife without the kiddos. We had a total blast and can’t even think of anything to complain about. We stayed in room 29 which is a very large condo style room above the Vintage Pearl. Great room, no noise at all, perfect location and way more room than we needed for 5 people. We ate dinner 4 times at the pearl and ventured elsewhere a bunch too. The staff are the nicest, kindest, hardworking people I have ever met. When you leave after just 2 weeks we were fighting off tears saying goodbye to our new friends. What an absolute amazing location, property and service they provided us. Way above and beyond what are expectations were. They clearly hire the best workers I’ve ever encountered. We can’t wait to come back for 3 weeks next season!

The beach is beautiful with lots to do. We have never been to an island with vendors on the beach so it was a little overwhelming at first. After about a day or 2 of buying banana bread, empanadas, coconuts and everything else you become friends with all the vendors too! A simple ‘no thank you’ is all it takes if you want some quiet time. By the end of the trip I loved talking to and learning about everyone I met on the beach.

They also own a fabulous property at the end of the beach with a pool, bar and restaurant. We spent many days there when the cruise ships came in for some quiet time and to let the kids swim and use their slides. Again here, 2 of my favorite bar tenders I’ve ever met. Just the best.

Maybe it’s different staying at the property for 2 weeks opposed to coming for a day off a ship but I can’t fathom how anyone has a negative comment. We travel for multiple weeks every year and we would be hard pressed to find a better place. ALL of the staff are simply the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure to spend time with. Can’t wait to be back!!!
