Visited on Easter Sunday. paid £4 to park (free for NT members). There was a little nature type walk. The area was quite flooded because of recent rain. Walked around. Saw the spot where the Haywain and other paintings were inspired. Did an Easter egg hunt walking around a rather muddy orange route walk but it was a lot of fun (£2.50). The tea room was very busy so didn't go in there. Some really nice old buildings to look at. Will revisit in the summer for sure.

Amazing scenery and well worth a visit to see where John Constable painted. Great map provided, and the Constable exhibition puts his work into perspective. The views are inspiring.
However the experience was marred by terrible service in the cafe, with inflated prices, and by the toilets which were beyond disgusting. I am VERY happy to support the National Trust, but please make this an all-round pleasure by improving the facilities.

Took my Partner here on our way to a Lunch. I used to live in this part of the world and I think it is easy to overlook the beauty around you. Clearly this is where John Constable painted some of his pictures and it is largely unchanged since then.

the Mill is lovely as is the water. when we were there the surrounding area was very wet and flooded but having been here before in the summer it is even more stunning then.

there is a gallery that is new since my last visit and the whole place is run by the National Trust

As we live near here we always have the opportunity just to pop down to Flatford. The car park is under National Trust care and you need to buy a ticket unless you are a member. £4.00 (Some people like to go to Dedham and pay £2.00 and walk to Flatford. Members but now use new system to scan their membership cards. Flatford is great for a visit with friends. The RSPB garden is delightful, there are toilets and disabled parking as you leave the garden. The walk to Dedham across the meadows takes about 45 minutes . Beware of very wet times as the meadows become flooded and wellingtons are advisable. The National Trust shop and cafe at Flatford is lovely. Good cakes and scones in the cafe with views of the river and bridge. In summer there is the opportunity to pay and go on the river to Dedham in a boat. You can also hire row boats. The walks around Flatford are great and new walks are marked linked to the paintings of Constable.
