We went there for just one night and arranged for a vegan menu to be served, as I am vegan. The hotel staff was very friendly on the telephone and said that this was not a problem.
However, when we arrived, the options for starter and dessert weren't even fully vegetarian- they served beef soup for the starter. When asked, the restaurant staff enquired whether I had an allergy or what was the reason I could not eat the rest of the food which I found highly insensitive. I should mention that the main dish was indeed vegan and quite delicious, namely pasta with (I assume) home-made tomato sauce.
All in all, a pleasant stay, but with the false promise of a vegan menu. It would not have hurt to clearly state that they cannot provide a menu but just a main which would have been fine. When I enquired about what went wrong, the management was not aware of any problems and seemed not to take me very seriously at all. Vegans (or vegetarians), stay clear of this place or do not take their "Halbpension" option.More
