I didn't expect much for the price I paid. The room was fully renovated with a beautiful bathroom, new interior, nice tv and really dark curtains for those day sleepers and night crawlers.

The rooms are cleaned/looked at daily. We didn't take the breakfast but there is an option for that.

Other travellers might complain about the neighbourhood its located in but all in all its not that bad. Keep an open mind and don't do or act in anyway you wouldn't act or be at home

Arrived for 3 nights in mid November. Relatively easy to find, but a fair 40 minute walk from Midi-Zuid.. we should have got an Uber.

The main reception and bar area are lovely and warm. Well decorated and welcoming. A tourist tax is payable upon arrival (about €1 per day). The staff are multilingual and very professional.

Some of the bedrooms have been refurbished lately, giving them a basic, but fresh appeal. Ours had not been, and whilst tidy, looked as though the furniture had not been updated since the 1990s. Most was very heavily chipped, bleached through years of cleaning, or badly marked, as was the case with the bed frames. The bathroom had not had a thorough deep clean for months, and under the sink was badly coated in dust, and the bath seals starting to mould. Two of the lights didn’t work, which housekeeping must have know about for at least the whole stay, as the rooms were cleaned and checked over by a supervisor daily. The safe didn’t work and the telly was like one I owned 30 years ago and had equally good reception. WiFi was available for free, and there were sockets in the room to charge phones, &c.

Breakfast was available from 7.30 - 10.00. The breakfast room desperately needs refurbishing, with no natural light, a decor decades out of date and communal dining. Hygiene was very good. The breakfast itself was basic, consisting of cereals, fruit, chopped hot frankfurters, sometimes bacon and eggs (sometimes hard boiled, other times available raw to boil your own), ham and cheese slices and 5 different sorts of sliced bread. All of the guests arrive for breakfast at 8am, like ravenous dogs, so arrive early if you want any choice.

A sign in the bedrooms informs ‘No picnic in the rooms’, so fill up!

Upon departure, the hotel provided a free shuttle bus back to the station, which was fantastic.

Overall: clean, good value, basic. You’d get the same standard from any British chains like Travelodge or Premier Inn, though breakfast could have been better. I’d visit again I think.

When we landed in Brussels we were welcomed by the city and we thought our aching backs would get the much-needed comfort of a bed. We reached the hotel only to find out that it was an ultra-budget hotel. The rooms were extremely small. The beds and linen were clean and comfortable. One problem though the bed had wheels so the bed had a mind of its own.

The rooms are a little cramped up but clean and well maintained. My worry was with the door as it had multiple 'barge-in' marks donno why but at the face of it didnt feel really safe.

The breakfast buffet was ok. I loved the revolving door that it had. It is located close the metro, therefore, travelling around the city was really good. There were just two people manning the hotel so service was kinda slow. Since you will be traveling the city more, it is good to treat this as a B&B place. All in all, average experience.

Safety aspect: 3/5
P.S. I traveled to Belgium in November 2015, but had no option, therefore, selected December 2016.

Myself and my girlfriend had a nice experience here. Friendly staff and a very clean/modern room. There's two ways of getting onto the public transport system; either walk up the street to the tram which will take you to l'oust metro hub OR walk down the street to the Clemenceau metro stop. It is a bit of a rough street and not friendly to my very non-muslim girlfriend. I would recommend you walk up the street to the tram stop. My girlfriend does not wear a head scarf of any description and due to this she was stared at by every man, woman and child whenever we tried to leave or were returning to the hotel. Brussels itself is lovely however this particular street felt very unwelcoming to tourists. Not to mention a man shouted 'f**k off American tourist' at me whilst I was stood just outside the door of the hotel. I cannot fault the hotel or the staff though as this place as amazing, its just a shame its in a bad area.

Room Tip: if you're looking for a nice view, dont choose this hotel

It is not the best side of town.
An area of the city with a lot of garbage around and around 15/20 minutes walking from the center.
The hotel inside is very nice, clean and calm.
The breakfast doesn't have many options, it was the down point of it.
The rooms are quite good (not so big) and they are clean every day.
