“Nice and majestic dam”

Wanted to show the TB Dam to the kids, so hopped on to the minibus that takes you from the entrance of the Gardens to the view point on top. The view of the dam is very nice, the huge expanse of the upstream reservoir was mind boggling.

The gardens are good, they have boat rides and you can take a leisurely stroll around the gardens. There is a light and sound show in the evening too.

At the dam level, there is a small garden from where you can see the length of the dam and the swirling waters of the upstream reservoir. Makes you wonder the engineering marvel behind the dam's construction.

The statistics of the dam as mentioned in the office there is also amazing if you are inclined towards the technical statistics.

Unfortunately they don't allow you to go anywhere close to the dam, the entire structure is cordoned off and menacing laws, rules, and regulations scare off potential intruders.

Overall, a nice visit, definitely a must watch if you are around the Hampi and Hospet areas.

The dam area is pleasing with greenery. Though we are not allowed to go close to the dam, the bus takes us to a point where we can get a full view of the TB dam with all its lighting during night time. The backwaters look amazing from there. The garden with its musical fountain is good but could be maintained better.

We went in July (being Monsoon) and water level was high. The view from Top is breathtaking and you would feel like as if looking at an Ocean. There is a Park and Boating as well available. Please do have the Boating Ride which is available for 100Rs per Trip for 4. Is very much fun and I enjoyed it :)

Not much to see if you have already seen a large dam and not a barrage. The dam supposedly has a light and sound show near 15th August, could not see any.
