There's something for everyone to enjoy in this charming coastal city with a near perfect year round climate. Over four miles of beautiful public beaches captivate swimmers, surfers and sunbathers from sunrise to sunset year round. Golfers are lured by the dozen or so courses, including the world-class Aviara Golf Club and the La Costa Resort and Spa. Bird-watchers and walkers can explore Carlsbad's three lagoons, where the Luiseno Indians made their home for centuries. The charming downtown Village area (no high-rises or strip malls) and tree-lined streets makes for a relaxing day. Choose from over 25 restraunts just in The Village alone! Shoppers need not despair - many charming one-of-a-kind stores line The Village streets and a designer outlet complex is nearby. The small-town, relaxed environment here fits nicely with the fields of colorful spring flowers and the amazing ocean vistas. But kids need something too, and Legoland, targeted to kids 12 and under, offers a whole world of lego-constructed animals and every other design imaginable, in addition to rides and shows.
Also there is an excellent but little known Museum of Making Music, great for the whole family!
