San Jose Events/Festivals:

Music in the Park is a weekly concert during the summer - good food and family fun; places to buy food and drink.

For racing fans or anyone who thrills to see someone drive fast in a downtown area, San Jose Grand Prix end July is a must see.  It just completed its 2nd year and is getting ready for its 3rd.  Drivers are saying that this is one of the best places to do on road racing.   There are also music concerts in the park during the weekend.

The Greek Festival takes place early June; San Jose Japantown celebrates its yearly Obon Festival in mid July.

The early August ZeroOne arts and technology festival was such a hit in 2006 that organizers hope to make it a biennial event. Look for it in 2008.

The San Jose Jazz Festival, once the only free jazz festival in the country, takes place in the second week of August. It recently had to begin charging a nominal amount for daily admission to its three-day jazz festival, that has often brought in some very big names.

Over Labor day, The Tapestry Arts Festival brings many craft and food vendors  to downtown San Jose  to celebrate the arts and enjoy great food.

For the holidays, San Jose Christmas in the Park festival is one of the best holiday month long celebrations in the state.  There is also ice skating downtown and rides (such as ferris wheels) to ride on.

San Jose is also the site of an International Mariachi Competition and Festival.
