McGhee Tyson Airport , located 12 miles south of Knoxville, is the main airport serving eastern Tennessee. All major airlines except Southwest serve the city. To get from the airport to downtown Knoxville, take I-40 northbound. Vehicles can be rented at the airport and there are also rental companies within the city proper as well. In addition, private and corporate jets are served by the Downtown Island Home Airport, a small airport located just 3 miles from downtown Knoxville.
Knoxville is a Greyhound bus destination. The local terminal is located at 100 East Magnolia Avenue. Megabus also runs inexpensive bus service between Knoxville and a number of other cities, with pickup and dropoff at 301 East Church Avenue.
