Scenic Byways and small country roads can lead you deep into the Colorado Wilderness, without leaving your car. The West Elk Scenic and Historic Byway is about 208 miles in length, and you can expect to spend 10 to 12 hours exploring the route which features high mountain vistas and a scenic overlook into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Two very different courses offer spectacular scenery and challenge.
