The owner of this property suggested that I cancel my booking and book directly through her. (Big mistake!) A few days before the border was closed due to Covid in March of 2020, I called to cancel the reservation. Not only did she rudely refuse to refund my money, but also refused to offer any future credit. I had a few other places booked, some of which had more stringent cancellation policies and each one of them refunded my money without hesitation.
If she really needed the money, because thing were tight, I would have understood if she responded to my request in a more civilized manner. She seemed to become irate, that I even asked for a refund. I have been traveling for over 40 years and I have never dealt with someone that acted in such a callous manner.
In any case, I hope she was able to put my money to good use and I hope she has become a better person.
