Love Love Love Marie and Mark, they are super friendly and very welcoming. They gave us lots of tips on where to eat and explore in the area. Mark and Chuck even had a guitar jam session one afternoon!
The Casita was clean and well appointed, the bed was extremely comfortable and the pool was awesome, just steps from our door. That’s where we spent the majority of our time there. Our goal was to relax and distress and that’s exactly what we did.
As much as we enjoyed our stay, it’s important to me to give a total and complete review of our time in Panama.
The advertisement for this unit is a bit of a stretch compared to the actual casita:
- “steps from the Coronado Beach Club” more of a drive than steps
- “steps from the Pacific Ocean”, you actually have to walk a ways down the road and then down a cut off to reach the beach which is completely under water twice a day (check the tide schedule before you go).
- Advertises a range and stove but what is actually there is a toaster oven and a small plug in two burner unit.
- “gym” we never saw any gym or gym equipment
The photos show a grilling/eating/bar area that is actually only for the use of the owners, if you want to grill, they point out a grill that is down a hall on the side of the house and not a lovely area to use or eat in. It’s sort of…one side of the pool area is for guests and the other side is for the owners.
The 2nd day we were there, we reported that we had no hot water. Marie had Tony (who is awesome) come in and he fixed it. However, during our entire stay, neither of us could finish even a quick shower without running out of hot water, may need a larger unit?
We also reported that the tv/dvd player did not work and that the dishwasher was running water out into the floor. Neither was addressed while we were there. I thought they might bring a tv from one of the unoccupied units (we were the only ones there that week) but they did not, we had to stream tv on my pad although we didn’t watch much tv, just would’ve have been nice in the evenings before bed. We did not have use of the dishwasher the entire time, washed it all by hand to keep from having water in the floor.
One thing to mention are the roads in Playa Coronado. The main roads are fine but almost all of the side roads are pretty much dirt tracks. For this casita, you are fine until you turn onto Arco Iris, from there on you are pretty much off-roading. Just an unpleasant driving experience.
