The Old Wharf Cottage was originally built in 1903 in the Edwardian era. it has been lovingly maintained to a high standard. Situated on a large plot, and boasts riverside lawns stretching down to a large patio by the rivers edge. You enter the house through the main entrance hall which leads upstairs via the large oak staircase. Upstairs there is a large king-size ensuite room, with riverside views and balcony. There is one further large ensuite twin room, as well as good size twin and double rooms with access to a large family bathroom. All three bathrooms are state of the art with walk in showers and a large bath. A highlight of this house is the last double room, which is attached to the side of the house on stilts, and is constructed out of 19th century beams from one of the first pioneering ships bound for Australia and contains beautiful carvings and unique features from this era. Downstairs consists of a large open plan fully stocked kitchen diner with both Aga and electric cookers, perfect for entertaining or cooking large family meals. There are two further lounges adjacent to the kitchen, one overlooking the river, while the other provides a cosy area equipped with electric fire and flatscreen tv. There are multiple board games available, as well as an outdoor pingpong table and croquet set. There is also a multipurpose play area for younger children. The 10m by 4m pool can be heated on request and provides a great area for relaxing by the large lawn garden, backing directly onto the river thames. There are multiple pool floats and lilos to help you relax and wind down. Please ask about the availability of the pool outside of the summer months - available beginning of May to the end of September. The riverside views are a real highlight of this property, positioned between two small islands this a beauty spot with fantastic opportunities for wildlife watching or just watching the river and its gentle bustle roll by. Local swans and ducks are daily visitors. We can also help organise boat trips to explore the thames with pick up directly from the garden. There is ample private parking for multiple cars to the rear of the property, surrounded by picturesque cottage gardens in two separate parking areas. We have good rail links close by, from both Slough and Sunny Mead rail stations to central London taking approx 18 and 40 minutes to Paddington and waterloo Stations. Providing access to all of Londons central attractions including oxford street, the natural history museum, the houses of parliament and many more. There are good air links from Heathrow (15mins) and Gatwick (45mins) and convenient transport links exist to both. Windsor is only 5 minutes away with access to attractions such as Windsor Castle, Windsor Racecourse, the Magna Carta memorial and Eton river cruises, as well as a host of restaurants and other attractions. The village's local pub 'the George' is also within short walking distance and is a highly rated cosy eatery perfect for a Sunday roast, recommended booking in advance. The Old Wharf Cottage is a beautiful holiday retreat and is perfect for families and large groups. 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 10. We look forward to hearing from you.More
