Recently graded by Scottish Tourist board as a 4 star self catering property

This two-storey Lodge has a large lounge, with a 64” flat screen HD TV with Freesat and DVD player. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is provided. The lounge has full-length windows to admire the sunsets and views. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a large leather corner couch and the large windows give you great views of the gardens (and wildlife, deer are regularly seen walking through the gardens). Interaction with guests
I will unfortunately not be able to meet you as I do not live nearby. However I have very capable housekeepers who are responsible for The Lodge and guests. Just before your stay I will email you the housekeepers name and mobile number so that you can contact her to meet you if you would prefer this or if you have any problems or general questions you would like answered.
I will also send you the key box number so that you can access the key for the front door on your arrival.

Great big house with lots of space for a large group. Wonderful location, if a little isolated. Ideal to get away and relax in comfort. Well equipped with WiFi etc. All in all a great place.

This cottage was perfect for us and our 3 generations. A great place to use as a Base for skiing, walking, mountain biking or just exploring.

A great location to use as a base for snow sports, mountain biking, water sports or walking/exploring the outdoors. Spacious property for 7 of us over 3 generations. Beautiful views of the snow capped mountains and only 8 miles from Aviemore. Log burner for cosy nights in watching TV.

About the neighbourhood
The Lodge is surrounding by forests and Insh Marshes which provides an abundance of wildlife to see whether on foot, bikes or cross country skiis.
The popular tourist destination of Aviemore is just 10 miles away with many activities for all ages.
Loch Insh Watersports Centre is 1 mile away accomodating hire and or instruction in sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, skiing, biking and much more including a restaurant and bar.
The Highland Folk Museum, The Widlife park and Landmark Adventure Park are within a few miles.
We are on the popular Spey Side Way which is a famous walking route through the highlands.
There are many whiskey distilleries near by that can be visited.
The area is saturated with activities and history.
Getting around
A car is best as the location is rural, however there are taxi numbers available in The Lodge which can be booked in advanced or I can provide before your stay.
Aviemore and Kingussie are both approximately 10 miles from the Lodge and both have main train stations with regular trains.

Located 1 mile from the village of Kincraig, Balnacraig is ideally situated to explore the surrounding areas within the Cairngorm National Park.

Directions to Kincraig:
•If you are heading South on the A9 turn off at the south exit for Aviemore, just 6 miles south of Aviemore on the B1952 is the village of Kincraig.
•If you are coming North off the A9 take the Kingussie exit onto the B9152. Just six miles north of Kingussie on the B9152 is the village of Kincraig.
•From the village shop continue across the Spey bridge towards the Watersports centre and Insh village signs
•Once at the the Watersports centre continue up the hill past the entrance to the T junction behind the centre.
