The first floor provides access to the upper apartment via a large covered porch area. There is a further, large, open plan kitchen/dining/living room with a small balcony area adjacent to the kitchen. A utility room and WC are situated in the hallway. The owners retain a private room on this floor (not in use during guest visits). The second floor provides 4 further spacious en-suite bedrooms, all featuring the additional benefit of double sofa beds. Of the main beds: one bed is a king, two are large doubles, and one is a large frame featuring 2 single mattresses. There is underfloor heating in the hallways, communal internal social space and en-suite bathrooms in the upper apartment. About KPOV: Kronprins Olavs Villa truly is a unique property, having been originally gifted to the infant Crown Prince of Norway, the future King Olav, in the early part of the 20th century. It was later moved to its current location, log by log, and reconstructed. The property fell into disrepair, but extensive renovations were undertaken in the late 2000s before it was purchased by the current owner. Further renovations have taken place since, with more planned in the future. KPOV, as it is known, is a substantial property with plentiful indoor and outdoor social space, as well as sizeable bedrooms to the second floor. All bedrooms are ensuite, which is certainly an added luxury unheard of in similar holiday rental properties. The views are spectacular, with sweeping views of mountains, forests and the fjord. Sit back, relax and enjoy a BBQ and a glass of wine on the deck with friends & family; or use the villa as a jumping off point for exploring the West Coast of Norway with plenty of outdoor activities within easy reach, as well as the numerous attractions and places of interest in nearby Bergen (a perfect day trip). If you are so inclined, we have use of a large boathouse (with private external docking area) so you are more than welcome to bring your boat along on your vacation! The ground floor dining table seats 6, the middle floor dining table seats 10-12, and the upper balcony table seats 4 with an additional bench. The outdoor furniture for the deck area seats 8-12. The property has a ground level hot tub, and is surrounded by steep drops. There are also building materials and construction areas on the surrounding islands; therefore please ensure small children are supervised at all times.
