The Harbour has a fascinating heritage with its three working docks. It is now part of the Millennium Coastal Park, and has benefited from a 4.2m transformation. Visitors strolling along the coastal path can admire the yachts and working boats moored in the Marina. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Park stretches out beyond the Marina with all its cycling and walking Burry Port beach is small, but relatively uncrowded, walk around the corner and you are onto the 8 mile stretch of award winning Cefn Sidan sands. There are clear panoramic views across Carmarthen Bay to the Gower and Carmarthenshire coast There are a range of water based activities for the holidaymaker. Pembrey Country Park is next door to Burry Port, approx 10-15 mins walk. It has a dry ski slope and toboggan run. There are several nature trails, a miniature railway, cycle hire, horse riding and a putting course. Plus, of course, the beautiful blue flag beach, Cefn Sidan Sands, the largest beach in the whole of Wales. It is eight miles long and its fine, pristine silky sands have no muddy or rocky areas. For those not motivated by the peace and quiet there is always the excitement of Pembrey Motor Sport Circuit, situated next to Pembrey Airfield. Ffos Las racecourse, the first turf horse racing course to open for more than 80 years is only a few miles away. For Golfers, Ashburnham Golf Course is within walking distance. The Jack Nicklaus Championship golf course at Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club is just 10 minutes drive away, and there are16 other golf courses within a 30 mile radius. Fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, quad biking, mountain biking, horse riding, birdwatching, snooker, bowls, shopping and excellent restaurants are all available locally. Charter boats are avaiable for fishing trips from Burry Port Marina and Swansea. Carmarthen bay is well recognised as one of the most productive areas for summer sea fish species especially Sea Bass.
