New Haven Heaven
Our 4 th time at this lovely house in Elie . It has a great location close to the beaches and a secluded beautiful garden. Perfect for little ones. Very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful Garden, well equipped, comfortable home!
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable week in the sunshine in Rlie. New Haven is well named as the back garden does indeed feel like a haven. Plenty of comfortable outdoor seating allows you to take full pleasure relaxing in the garden. The house is solid, spacious and comfortable and a special mention for the lovely bedding, we had such a great time we are already booking for next year. I should also mention the location is perfect close to beach, pier and pub and parking outside was remarkably easy.

Lovely place to stay in Elie
New Haven is a beautiful home with a lovely garden that was in full bloom during our stay. Thanks Colin we had a great time - so nice to get away somewhere so special!

Superb. Home from Home
We visited New Haven September 2020 with Family and our Dog. It was the first time the dog had been on holiday, however we shouldn't have been concerned New Haven has the most spectacular outside space for both the dog and children, Fully enclosed. New Haven is a fantastic base and has a loved feeling about it in every room, Colin couldn't have been more helpful. We will certainly aim to be back next year. It's our new HOME away from HOME

A wonderful time on our regular summer hols in Elie Lovely, comfortable time in Colin’s lovely seaside holiday home. Clean, well presented, all we would need for our stay, and a marvellous, large, beautiful garden. Booked for next year during my stay.

Super stay again!
We have stayed at New Haven 6/7 times in the last 4 years but this was our first visit in 18 months and the house has had a mini refurb with new flooring, furniture, bathroom, shower etc to make it an even more pleasant stay. The owner Colin could not be more hopeful and the location of the house is just perfect. This was our one year old golden retriever Scout’s first visit and she loved exploring the beautiful garden - thanks Colin!

Perfect cottage
We had a great stay, everything was spotless and very comfortable. Sockets near mirrors would be handy for drying hair, ladies had to use twin room. We were glad we arrived mid afternoon to get shop open as there was no loo rolls!! An oversight I am sure. Can’t wait to return.

Fabulous Home, fabulous setting

Fantastic week at New Haven
Stayed in this house last week with family and had a fantastic time. This house is centrally located for everything you would want to do in Elie. It has a huge back garden and plenty of street parking at the front of the house. It is well equipped nicely decorated. We will definitely return one day. Thank you.

Golf: If you are looking for a base to enjoy Scottish Links Golf, you will love Elie as a location.As well as Elie's 2-golf courses, the famous St Andrews Old Course is only 10-miles away. The facilities at St Andrews, the home of golf, are among the finest in the world comprising 7-public courses, 2-clubhouses, a 51-bay driving range, a short game area, 3-practice greens and replica bunkers. Other links golf courses can be found at Lundin Links, Crail and Kingsbarns, indeed there are more than 30-Golf courses within a 15-mile radius. Sailing: As well as miles of great coastal walks there are daily Boat trips from Anstruther to the Isle of May, a nature reserve run by Scottish Natural Heritage, boasting incredibly diverse wildlife, a medieval monastery and the oldest lighthouse in Scotland. Water-Sports: Elie Water-Sports is based in Elie Harbour less than five minutes walk away and offers Sailing, Pedalos, Windsurfing, Water-skiing, Inflatable rides, Wet Suit and Mountain Bike hire. Elie's sheltered bay ensures safety for beginners while the challenges of the open sea can be found beyond the bay. Courses are available and all are made very welcome. There are Swimming Pools nearby in St Andrews and Leven. Elie Sports Club is based next to Elie Golf Club and is a 5-minute walk from New Haven. The Club has Tennis Courts, 2-Golf Courses, Putting Green, Driving Range, Bowling Green and a cyber Cafe Pavilion. Golf and tennis coaching is available for all ages and is booked through the Pro Shop next door to the Pavilion. Horse Riding is available at nearby Kilconquhar Castle Estate Equestrian Centre (5-minutes drive away). Kilconquhar offers outdoor Treks, Hacks and also Lessons in their all weather arena. Birthday Parties can be booked and include riding, buffet and party bags. Elie is famous for it's Beach cricket and the Beer Garden of the Ship Inn is a perfect venue to watch the Elie Cricket team, who play during the Summer. If you enjoy eating out, there are good pubs and restaurants on offer. Within easy walking distance you will find The Station Bar and Also nearby, you can choose to eat at the 19th Hole, the Pavilion, Harbour House and the Golf Tavern which are open all day serving a wide range of Bistro-style food specialising in Pasta dishes, Steaks, authentic freshly cooked Pizzas (take-away service also available) and a good range of Coffees and Home Baking during the day. Kilconquhar pub is a 5-minute drive away and well worth a visit. The Ship Inn provides a varied, colourful menu and extensive wine list and is an extremely popular eating venue with the most stunning views over Elie Bay. Slightly further afield is The Cellar in Anstruther or the Peat Inn Restaurant. Places to Shop: For more extensive shopping Leven has Sainsburys, and Anstruther has the Co-Operative Store St Andrews offers a diverse range of specialist shops while fine food shopping in Elie can be found in the Delicatessen and Ardross Farm Shop is 1-mile East of Elie. Go to the Theatre: The Byres Theatre in St Andrews is well worth a visit, as is the Cinema. Dundee has the DCA and Caird Hall.
Getting around
There is a regular Bus Service Stop immediately outside the property. Both Summer & Winter brings the opportunity to take a brisk walk along the coast taking in the bracing sea air, and after, you can curl up in front of the fire and enjoy a wee dram of good Scotch Whisky or a warming Hot Chocolate.

How to get there
The charming and historic village of Elie is less than an hours drive from Edinburgh, two hours from Glasgow and within easy reach of St. Andrews. New Haven is positioned in a fantastic location in the historic Royal Burgh of Elie and Earlsferry on the East coast of Scotland, known as the East Neuk of Fife. New Haven is a 20-minute drive from St Andrews, 45-minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 40-minutes from Dundee. Markinch and Leuchars Train Stations are 15-km away and there are also further Train Stations at Leuchars and Cupar. Travelling from the South and West: Cross the Forth Road Bridge, leaving the M90 at Junction 2A, following the A92, A911, A915 and the A917 to the town. Travelling from the North: Follow the A913 to Cupar, then the B940 and B941 to Elie. Travelling from the North via the Tay Bridge: Follow the signs for St Andrews. Turn left at the roundabout at Guardbridge, then next right sign posted Strathkinness/Craigtoun. Go through Peat Inn, Largoward and Kilconquhar. Drive into Elie and turn left into the High Street, continue along the High Street passing the Station Bar on the left and New Haven is situated about 200-yards along on the right side of the High Street. New Haven is easily identifiable by it’s Orange colour pan-tiled Roof. Car Parking is available directly outside the property (un-restricted) and there are plenty of other parking spaces nearby. Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports offer an abundance of choice of airlines, including British Airways, BMI, Easyjet, Ryanair, Globespan, Lufthansa, and many other budget Airlines. Car Hire can be arranged at the Airports for easy transportation to Elie, with the Central Scotland motorway network ensuring easy access to the Kingdom of Fife. There is a convenient public Bus-Stop directly outside New Haven and frequent bus services operate throughout Fife and the Edinburgh regions.

Notes from owner
Booking Deposit: A deposit of one third of the rental cost is required on confirming a booking. The balance is due no later than one month before the let begins. If the deposit is not paid within three days of making the booking, then we reserve the right to cancel the let. Damage Deposit: A refundable, damage deposit of £200.00 is also required in addition to the booking deposit and this must be paid when the balance is due, i.e. no later than one month before the let begins. This will be refunded after the property has been cleaned and if any damage/unpaid bills/extra cleaning is required this will be deducted from the damage deposit prior to refund. Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations must be confirmed by contacting the Owner who will then try to re-let the property and if only a deposit has been paid (i.e. cancellation was more than 4-weeks prior to entry) and we are successful and re-let the full period at the same rental, we will refund the deposit minus an Admin fee of £50.00. If we have to reduce the rent in order to re-let, then we will refund the deposit minus the admin fee and also minus the amount needed to make up the rent. If we fail to re-let the property then the tenant will lose the full deposit. If the cancellation is within the last month prior to occupancy (i.e. when the full balance should have been paid) and if we re-let for the full amount, a refund of the full amount minus £50.00 Admin fee will be given. If we have to reduce the rental, a refund will be granted minus admin fees as above and minus any difference in rental. If we do not manage to re-let, then the full rental amount is retained by the owner. Entry & Departure Times: Entry time is from 4.00pm onwards on your arrival day and you must vacate by 10.00am on the departure day. Please make sure you make contact within a couple of days of your let start date to arrange key collection. Occupancy Numbers: The number of people occupying the property must not exceed six persons. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the property and end the tenancy if this number is exceeded. Care of Property: The hirers of the property must ensure that the property is left in a clean and tidy condition, with any re-cyclable items that are not uplifted by the bin men being taken to the recycling points within the village (as on instruction sheet handed out on arrival). Failure to comply with these conditions may result in an additional charge. The hirers of the property are responsible for the replacement of (or payment for) any article broken or damaged during their occupation of the property. The hirers are also responsible for the repair of any damage done to the property itself during the rental period (excluding reasonable wear and tear). In the event of a breakdown of equipment please make contact as soon as possible and we will do our best to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. We cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control such as delays in fixing central heating breakdowns due to having to order parts, power cuts, burst water mains, etc. Smoking: Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the property. If anyone chooses to smoke outside, please dispose of the used cigarette ends by placing them in the refuse bin. Pets: Pets are allowed, by prior arrangement with the owner. Public Liability: We do not accept liability for any neglect, default or act, nor for any inconvenience, injury, accident or loss suffered by any person, or to any vehicle or possessions, in or around the property, or in any way arising out of the property from any cause whatsoever. Complaints: If you have a complaint, please inform us immediately (do not wait till the end of your stay) and we will do our best to resolve it. Disclaimers: The owner cannot accept responsibility for work taking place outside the boundary of the property, nor for any noise or nuisance, arising from works over which we have no control. We reserve the right to amend prices/descriptions quoted on the website due to errors and/or omissions.
