Bemposta is in the municipality of Mogadouro largest town.
It has 711 inhabitants living mainly from agriculture and livestock.
 It is strategically located at the point where the Douro and Tormes rivers meet, so it was a very desirable territory, which had to be defended with walls and two castles, of which today there are only a few ruins.
Its architecture is preserved, it seems that time does not pass. It maintains its ancestral and traditional houses with stone facades, its labyrinthine cobbled streets, several chapels and shrines, and pelourinho the sixteenth century.
