Then please consider our family's beach house at Playa Cofresi on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. We are not part of a resort - so your family and friends will be the only guests at Villa del Caribe. Enjoy the pool, the private outdoor verandas and the beach across the street from Caribe. But most important is our fantastic staff who will pamper you during your stay - to the point of sending you home with clean clothes (now that IS a vacation). Many guests stay for a long weekend or a week. But if you want to get away for longer -- even a month -- please let us know. As the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic have reopened, travelers to Villa del Caribe can rest easy knowing that your safety will be ensured while at our beach front vacation home. Our protocols are aligned with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) standards, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, and companies in the hospitality and medical hygiene sector. Read about our new enhanced cleaning and COVID-19 safety protocols below. Villa del Caribe is a private fully-staffed villa and not part of a resort - meaning you will have a truly peaceful and relaxing vacation. Our beach house has a private pool, multiple verandas and lots of places to simply relax --- the hammock in the cabana; sitting under the pergola watching hummingbirds in the flowers growing overhead; strolling the gardens with orchids and fruit trees. Or just sit back and enjoy watching the kids play in the pool. You can walk down to the beach for a while, or have an adventure and explore the North Coast with one of the available tours. Early risers can watch the sun rise over the beach from the 2nd floor veranda while sipping a wonderful cup of Dominican coffee, and listening to the birds as they wake up. We are the only private beach-front villa in Playa Cofresi. Our amazing team will take great care of you and your family - there is no need to clean or make beds, cook or do laundry. And if you would like to go home with clean laundry -- just ask! Our staff has happily taken care of guests with a wide range of dietary concerns: Vegetarians, guests with food allergies (including gluten and tree nuts), and guests recovering from serious disease. And if you are interested, we can help to arrange tours, massages, manicures/pedicures, and more. If parents would like to go out and enjoy some alone time - we can arrange for a sitter. Villa del Caribe and its staff have hosted numerous special events, including wedding receptions, baptisms, family reunions, as well as many birthday and anniversary celebrations. WONDERFUL!

Such a wonderful way to visit the DR. Full staffed with fantastic cook who will prepare any/all meals you wish. The pool is beautifully maintained and the rooms are gorgeous. We traveled with our teenage daughters and older children and everyone had their own room...More

One of our best family vacation yet.

The Staff was awsome. So helpful and informative. Very hard working. Franchesca, Maria and Moreno were like family. It was hard saying good bye. We definitely will consider going back.

Playa Cofresi is a wonderful place for those who want a relaxing Dominican experience, but aren't interested in (or are tired of) the all-inclusive scene. Just walk along the beach, and you'll see and meet a wide range of people, all of whom are enjoying simply being at Cofresi. Tourists from the US and Europe mingle easily with Dominicans. On the beach, language is not a barrier -- a simple 'Hola!' and a smile are all that is needed. There is also a thriving (and often quirky) community of expats who have washed up on the shores of Cofresi. Most of them have come from the US, Canada, Germany and the UK. Just pull up a seat at Chris & Mady's bar, or the bar at the Beach House restaurant and strike up a conversation. Everyone has a story that they are happy to share over a Margarita...
