This totally renovated, cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's cottage is a stone's throw from a small, secluded sandy beach, a short walk from a larger sandy beach and within easy walking distance of the harbour. The dolphins are frequent visitors to this area of coastline and are regularly seen during the summer months – keep an eye out at all times! New for 2017 - super fast broadband! The village has an excellent pub, The Admirals, as well as a chemist and post office, local store, and hairdressers. The cottage makes an excellent base for exploring the area - there is plenty to do from golf, castles, whisky distilleries, wildlife watching, or just simply building sandcastles! About the neighbourhood
Findochty is a picturesque fishing village dating back to as early as the 1400's. It used to be a busy fishing port, but the harbour is now home to leisure boats and used for pleasure. The village has an excellent pub serving meals, a convenience store, chemist and post office. The nearby villages of Portknockie and Cullen are well worth a visit; Portknockie for its rugged coastline and stunning Bow Fiddle Rock and Cullen for its superb beach, unique shops and ice cream - people come from miles around for a Cullen ice cream! Buckie is the nearest town, with all the usual amenities - super markets, petrol station etc. There is also a working harbour.
How to get there
Findochty is located between Aberdeen and Inverness airports, making it easily accessible from around the world. The nearest train station is Keith or Elgin, both approximately 20 miles away. Buses run between Aberdeen and Inverness but for convenience the use of a car is advised.
