There's no problem with smoking outside the house or bringing dogs. Just please leave the place as you found it. As well as our home for a third of the year, it is a wonderful retreat (search Retreat to the Farm) so please treat it with respect so that many others can enjoy it too. There are more detailed instructions which you will need to read, especially about using the pool. So please glance through the information pack.

We are a 5 minute walk from Chateau du Rivau. You will be able to use all of the gardens and pool for your exclusive use. Please note the property is discounted from October when the pool is closed until the following May. Exact closure dates on request. Most of our reviews are on Airbnb where we also list a larger property increasing our capacity to 12. We only let to one group at a time so you will be private. We have a permanent host on site in a separate building. Other reviews can be found by searching for Retreat to the Farm where we host our retreats.

Blissful family holiday

La Guimarderie has everything you could dream of, we loved the quietness of sunflower, maize and wheat fields around the farm, the sunsets and the starry nights. If we wanted to we could explore cobbled streets of the nearby medieval town of Chinon, visit the...More

Wonderful atmospheric and peaceful farmhouse

What a fantastic place. Great views, glorious weather, a sense of peace and calm but also near great vineyards and other excellent places to visit. My 5 days were brilliant and I could have happily stayed many more.

About the neighbourhood
It is very quiet in a little hamlet. Ideal for peace, tranquillity, walks, bike rides and star gazing. This is why it is so ideal for Yoga and Meditation retreats which take place throughout the year. You should find it if you search for 'Retreat to the Farm'
Getting around
You will need a car as we are 12km from Chinon's railway station. The nearest bread shop and grocers are in Champigny-sur-Veude, some 6km away. We are 60km away from Tours or Poitiers airports where you can hire a car.
