At the opposite end of the spacious living area is a large dining table opposite the stylish fully fitted kitchen. The large central island is equipped with bar stools making it an ideal spot for breakfast or a quick coffee before heading out for the day. Kitchen amenities include a large hob and oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a useful separate cloakroom which houses the washing machine. There are three bedrooms in total. The main bedroom has a ziplink superking bed (which can be a twin on request) and an ensuite bathroom which has a shower cubicle, WC and basin. The second bedroom has a kingsize double bed and the third bedroom has two single beds . The spacious family bathroom has a large walk in shower, separate bath, WC and basin. Outside Beaufort Barn, the sunny terrace will have furniture available in the summer months along with a charcoal BBQ to enjoy some alfresco dining. **Please note that there is a small stream in the grounds** West Burton and beyond West Burton is one of four very picturesque villages that sit below the scarp slope of the South Downs close to Bury Hill. Bury is a mile to the east, while Bignor and Sutton are both within two miles to the west. There are two fine local pubs to be found locally both offering local ales and good hospitality. Beaufort Barn is certainly well placed for enjoying the South Downs National Park. A footpath climbs up from the village, however if you are feeling less energetic there is a car park at Whiteways by Bury Hill or you can take the lane to the Downs from Bignor and park at the top beside the South Downs Way. The South Downs Way is one of 15 National Trails in England and Wales and was the first bridleway National Trail in England. It is also the only National Trail to lie entirely within a National Park. Stretching from the ancient cathedral city of Winchester in the west, first capital of England, through to the white chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head at Eastbourne in the east, almost all of its stunning 100 mile length is blissfully off-road. A short distance from West Burton lies Arundel, a historic market town dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tea rooms. Also nearby is the historic market town of Petworth which is just 15 minutes drive to the north of Beaufort Barn and is the location of the stately home Petworth House and deer park which was landscaped by Capability Brown. The town itself is full of quaint houses and cottages which are interspersed with antique shops and tearooms so it is worth taking the time to browse having visited Petworth House. Beaufort Barn is also perfectly placed to enjoy the events hosted at Goodwood each year. A short drive further on is the cathedral city of Chichester with all of the attractions that this cosmopolitan city offers.More
