Newlyn sits in south-west Cornwall, between the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole and the historic port of Penzance. This charismatic seaside town is an active fishing port providing safe anchorage to one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK. Westcliff offers an exceptional setting with immense letting appeal. Set in an elevated harbour side position, guests can admire uninterrupted views to the iconic castle topped island of St Michael’s Mount and as far as the Lizard Peninsula on clear days. The cottage provides accommodation for up to four adults and two children with three bedrooms, one bathroom and one WC. There is a sitting room on the first floor, where time can be spent watching the changing skies and tides and the comings and goings of the fishing boats as they land their catch, and a kitchen dining room on the ground floor. To the rear is an enclosed courtyard garden with garden furniture and a barbecue. There is also allocated parking for one car a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. Westcliff is ideal for friends and families for breaks at any time of year. Amenities: Gas central heating. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, Apple TV, two DAB digital radios, WiFi, books, games and DVD’s for all ages. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair available. Off road parking for one car within 5 minute walk. Courtyard garden with furniture and charcoal barbecue. Two well behaved pets welcome. Sorry no smoking. Pub/restaurant 2 minute walk, shop 10 minute walk. Note: Maximum four adults and two children or five adults and one child. No stag/hen or similar. The fire in the kitchen dining room is not in operation. Locked door to the cellar. Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations. Town: Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint village in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all sea baring craft. It is unusual in that visitors can still watch the landing and auctioning of fish at the market, as many families have for centuries before. This Cornish village is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the village, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.More
