A truly delightful 3 bedroom house in the charming village of Greffeil. Nestled in the hills south of Carcassonne, the village offers many attractions - there are numerous marked walking trails, cycling - on and off-road* and running opportunities. If you would prefer to take advantage of the sun and relax then grab your towel and head down to the crystal clear, refreshingly cool river. Carcassonne Cite is a must see - head there late afternoon as the temperature cools slightly, the crowds dwindle and it is lit up. Additional amenities & feature info
The house was built in 1862 and lies at the edge of the village. It has recently been refurbished with contemporary colours, furniture and wooden flooring upstairs. It has 3 bedrooms - the master bedroom with double bed, a twin bedded room and a small room with bunk beds. A cot is available. There is also a shower room with toilet on the first floor. Downstairs, the house has a more Mediterranean feel to it with tiled floors and white walls. A log burner is perfect for those breaks between autumn and Spring. A modern, fully fitted kitchen, large farmhouse table for 6, plus a high chair and a small seating area with a TV/DVD player, a small selection of adult and children's DVDs, and a bookcase of English books, form the open plan living space. This room leads directly on to the terrace. At the rear of the room, is a small 'cave' which houses a washing machine. There is a washing line that can be used on the terrace. The kitchen is well stocked with a good range of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. There are plastic plates, cups and cutlery for young children. There is a full size oven with grill, 4 ring electric hob and a fridge with a small freezer compartment. Due to the abundance of local markets, we tend to stock up with fresh produce every few days. There is also a good range of toys, games, puzzles and books for younger children.

About the neighbourhood
Greffeil nestles in the hills of the Corbieres forest and is the starting point for a number of marked walking routes. It is also perfect for exploring on bike but be prepared for some steep hills to ascend. A gentler way to enjoy a bike ride is to select a section of the Canal du Midi - the plane trees offer welcome shade from the summer sunshine. Greffeil has a small listed church (history available in the house)daily visits from the 'bread' van and a wonderful river with crystal clear rock pools perfect to cool off in. Just outside of Carcassonne is a great swimming lake with a small beach - perfect for young children, mini golf, peddaloes and for the daring - the O2 aerial adventure park. Limoux is the nearest town and it is a livley and colourful place. It has a weekly market, a...
