Sit on the decking and enjoy the views over the garden to the sea. This gorgeous apartment on the second floor has sea views of Torbay and Torquay harbour, large balcony overlooking the gardens, swimming pool and out to sea, yet 10 minutes to dining, cafes and bars. Located in a quiet area, yet 3 minute walk to the sea front and 2 beaches, with hotel bar on the sea front. Or walk along the sea front about 10 minutes to a range of eateries, cocktail bar, costa, vista. Tennis courts, crazy golf, gardens and the oldest recorded Torre Abbey listed in Doomesday book, now restored (nice café on site) and had something to do with the Spanish Armada back in 1588 where we kept Spanish prisoners of war in the Barn. Torquay train station is about 8 minutes walk from where you can access other towns. ...Sit on the decking and enjoy the views over the garden to the sea. About the neighbourhood
Check out Cockington for cream teas, clotted cream on the top! Torre Abbey and the Spanish Barn from the invasion that went horribly wrong in 1558 with the Armada....the spanish ended up being locked in the Barn, and the Monks seemed to lose the haul! Torquay town centre is a walk around the sea front. Also not far are the chain restaurants of Pier Bistro, Costa coffee, Vista, and our own lovely restaurant The Rocks, and Coco cocktail bar. Pier point restaurant is a little further around the bay towards torquay. And the mighty Princess Theatre is next door, who housed the likes of all the great acts through the years including The Beatles, who paddled in Abbey Sands beach
Getting around
Number 12 bus on the main road (beside the beach) goes to Paignton and Brixham. And the other way to Newton Abbot. During summer months catch the ferry from Torquay harbour to Brixham for fish and chips and a pint. Train station is 8minute walk along main road; connecting you to Newton Abbot, Totnes, Exeter, Plymouth, Paignton and you could pick up the steam train from Paignton which runs to Dartmouth. Walk 1/2 mile inland to picturesque Cockingtin with thatched cottages and cream teas.
