Our cleaning company has adopted the national certificated Covid-19 Secure Cleaning Standards and Protocols. We have been letting since 2015, and we are delighted to offer our compact two-bedroom holiday flat in a characterful historic building; in a great location a couple of minutes away from Torquay's bustling Harbour. The flat has proved popular not only with small families, but also with couples and friends looking for a seaside getaway in a great convenient location. 16 Trinity Mews is located within an historic Grade 2 Listed mews building, in a Conservation Area, that once housed horses and carriages. The flat has one double bedroom, one room with two single beds, a kitchen-lounge area and separate shower-toilet room, and is located in a quiet side-street yet just moments away from Torquay's bustling Harbour area and town centre with all its shops, restaurants, pubs and bars. As the Harbour is also the focal point of the local bus network, and Torquay is well-served by trains and coaches, the flat is ideal for a car-free getaway. The flat may be small, but it is comfortably furnished and has a fully-equipped kitchen including a new fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, full-sized oven & gas cooking hob, electric kettle, toaster and microwave. The flat is kept clean, and in good decorative and working order. The lounge area features a large sofa and a separate small dining table with two chairs and two additional foldaway chairs. Free TV is available through Freeview and there is free WiFi. There is also a Blaupunkt audio system which plays from digital radio, CD, USB and Bluetooth. As well as the Harbour and Town Centre, there are beautiful beaches within easy reach. The main Abbey Sands in Torquay itself is about ten minutes' walk away, whilst in the opposite direction is the beautiful and tranquil Meadfoot Beach, set in a wooded bay and with a small café. There are a number of other attractive beaches in the area, and beautiful sea views from the coastal paths and cliff top at Nearby Daddyhole Plain. Torquay is consistently voted as a favourite English seaside resort by TripAdvisor users, and it is not difficult to see why. South-facing and set in a sheltered bay, it is one of the warmest and sunniest spots in the UK. Torquay, together with the neighbouring family-friendly resort of Paignton and the pretty, intimate fishing town of Brixham make up The English Riviera; 22 miles of stunning coastline and beaches, and myriad attractions and things to see and do for all ages. It is also an ideal base for exploring the cities, towns and countryside of South Devon. The unique geography of the area led to it becoming the first urban area in the world to be granted Geopark status in 2007. But above all, we want you to feel at home. We use the flat too as a home-from-home and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do. Additional Information: Inclusive pricing: the price you pay includes bed linen and towels (no need to bring your own); gas, electricity and water; free TV, DVD and WiFi and there is even milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits for when you arrive. There is no additional guest booking fee for this property. Arrival and departure: The flat is available from 4pm on arrival day. Please vacate by 9.30am on departure day, to give the cleaning company sufficient time to prepare the flat between guests. For the time being we ask that all guests bag up their bedlinen and towels before departure. Accessibility Statement: the flat is not wheelchair accessible, and may be unsuitable for people with restricted mobility as there is no step-free access. The approach to Trinity Mews is up a short but steep hill, and the flat is accessed by 20 steps up to the first floor balcony. There is a step up into the shower. Car parking: Trinity Mews is in a Controlled Parking Zone, but I can provide free of charge daily Visitor Parking Permits so you can park in the adjacent streets. The property is registered with the local Council as a Holiday Let, and is liable for local non-domestic rates. All net income from holiday letting is declared for UK tax purposes. If you are a couple and 16 Trinity Mews is not available for your dates, or you are looking for something a little more spacious, I also own and let out no. 18, the one-bedroom flat next door - property ID 7297410More

Good as ever
This is the 4th time we have stayed at Trinity Mews, the location is brilliant. We have stayed at separate apartments each time and each has provided a great holiday. The apartment was clean, bright and had everything we needed. Comfy beds, Internet, great view and plenty of utensils and equipment. Staying at Trinity makes our holiday even better because it is a pleasure to get back at the end of the day and relax. We will certainly be back for another visit.

Wonderful accomadation
My husband and I had a wonderful week at 16 Trinity Mews. It is the best equipped appartment we have ever stayed at with quality modern equipment. Washing up liquid, tea towels dish washer tabs and washing machine tabs were all included. It was immacualately clean and well presented. There are parking permits which allows you to park in any A zone spaces, we did struggle one evening but this was soon rectified . Very close to restaurants and the harbour A well informed folder was very useful. Thank you Julian

Wonderful holiday apartment
We enjoyed a great family weekend in Torquay for October half term. The weather was 50/50 - beautiful beach walks when the sun was out and we found plenty to do when it wasn't. The apartment was a cosy place to return to, to curl up and watch a DVD. Great location, central but tucked away. Beautifully clean and great facilities. Many thanks Julian for a great week in Torquay!

Lovely property, spotlessly clean
Thanks very much to Julian, the owner for a great stay in a beautiful and very clean apartment. The location was excellent, the kitchen really well equipped and everything was very comfortable. I enjoyed the very comprehensive welcome booklet. There were no parking permits when we arrived, but after a quick call to the owner he brought them over within a few minutes. Guests who are driving do read the street signs carefully as you can't park everywhere on the street which the permit allows - only in the marked bays. Thankfully Julian was able to help us out when we arrived! Thanks again, highly recommended.

We'll be back! Superb sea side home
A great location just 2 minutes walk to the Harbour and 10 min easy stroll along the harbour to the beach. A quiet, safe location and usually not a problem to park in Trinity Hill or Meadfoot Lane. The parking permit is a great benefit and saves a fortune on parking. The boats, buses and trains mean you don't need to move the car really, plus lots of lovely coastal walks from the door. The flat itself has a warm sunny top floor position and is a true home from home with every detail thought of including a welcome pack with coffee and milk and all your cleaning kit including tea towel and washing up tablets/gel Games , DVDs and books supplied too We were nervous about staying anywhere after being locked down for so long but no need, this place was immaculate. Warm, sunny and welcoming you can tell this is a loved home We will be back and I'd hugely recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfy home. Photos do not do it justice.

About the neighbourhood
Torquay is located around an attractive harbour, which is lined with restaurants, pubs and bars to sit all tastes and pockets. The town itself is built on the hills which rise dramatically above the harbour, and the Italianate villas and blocks of flats give it more the appearance of the South of France than anywhere in England. The mild climate allows palm trees to grow in profusion here, adding to the Mediterranean ambience. You won't be short of things to see and do in Torquay. There are several beaches, ranging from the main Abbey Sands, the beautful wooded Meadfoot beach, and the Bababcombe and Oddicombe beaches that are reached by the historic Babbacombe Cliff Railway. Nearby Paignton also has extensive beaches, and Goodrington is home to the UK's largest outdoor water park (don't worry, the water is heated!). For the more adventurous, sea fishing and diving are also available. Geologists might want to take in Torquay Museum, which holds many collections of local, national and international significance. Maybe combined with a visit to nearby Kent's Cavern, where the oldest known evidence of human habitation so far in Northern Europe so far has been discovered. The geological importance of its coastline led to The English Riviera being the first urban area in the world to be given Geopark status. Fans of the crime writer Agatha Christie will know that she was born and brought up in the town, and an 'Agatha Christie mile' takes you on a self-guided walk around places associated with her - you can pick up the leaflet for the Tourist information Centre on the harbourside. Her summer home at nearby Greenway is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public; there are several ways of getting there including by steam train from Paignton. Don't miss Living Coasts on the harbourside, Torquay's unique coastal zoo dedicated to marine life and conservation. It is an offshoot of nearby Paignton Zoo, which is also worth a visit. Torre Abbey and Gardens stand on the site of a 12th-century monastery. Although the Abbey is much rebuilt, the Spanish Barn is thought to survive from the twelfth or thirteenth century and is the oldest building in Torquay. The Abbey is now home to an art gallery which holds regular exhibitions, and a tea room. You might enjoy a trip back in time to Cockington, Torquay's own picture-postcard thatched village which appears unchanged from medieval times - but was actually built by the local landowner in 1810 as the original village was spoiling his view! Nearby Cockington Court has tea rooms, a country park, and craft studios where you can watch craftspeople at work, and maybe buy an unique souvenir of your visit to take home. For a trip with a difference, catch the Western Lady ferry from the Harbour for the 30-minute trip across Torbay to the pretty fishing town of Brixham. Ferries depart at regular intervals from April to October and tickets are inexpensive. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway recreates the atmosphere of Devon holidays in times past. The 30 minute ride from Paignton to Kingswear takes in dramatic sea and river views, and a short ferry ride across the River Dart to the attractive town of Dartmouth completes the experience. You can also take a river cruise or take a ten-mile boat ride up to the town of Totnes, and there is even a sea-cruise option. Combined rail-river-bus 'Round Robin' itineraries are available including a bus link from Torquay Harbour. Nightlife isn't neglected in Torquay either. There are numerous restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs to suit all ages, tastes and pockets. Or perhaps take in a show at the Princess Theatre on the seafront, or the theatres in nearby Paignton or Babbacombe? Or the Central Cinema in Abbey Road, or the Vue Cinema in Paignton? Torquay was awarded 'Purple Flag' status in 2015, which reflects the variety of its nightlife, safety and availability of transport and taxis.
Getting around
Torquay Harbour, just a couple of minutes from the flat, is the focal point of the local bus network - as well as the frequent local buses to Paignton and Brixham regular bus routes radiate out to Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, Exeter, Totnes and Plymouth. Good-value day tickets are available for travel locally around Torbay, and further afield. Torquay Station is less than twenty minutes walk away or a short bus ride, for train excursions around Devon and into neighbouring Cornwall.
Access
Car not needed
How to get there
Torquay is served by First Great Western trains from London Paddington, some direct and many more with one easy change at Newton Abbot. Also Cross-Country Trains from the North of England and the Midlands either direct or with one change at Newton Abbot. The Station is 1.5 km from the flat and taxis are readily available outside the Station, or catch a bus to Torquay Harbour - the flat is just a couple minutes' walk from the bus stops. Direct National Express coaches to Torquay from London and many other UK towns and cities, again taxis are readily available at the coach station or catch a bus to Torquay Harbour. Torquay Harbour is just two minutes walk from the flat and is the hub for the local bus network and ferry trips, making the flat an ideal location for a car-free holiday. If you are coming by car, the flat is in a Controlled Parking Zone. We can make free daily Visitor Parking Permits available so you can park in the adjacent streets.
