Squirrels Drey Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion completed in 2013, split over three levels there is a lovely feeling of space and light, overlooking our own Birdwatching tarn from the back and farmers fields and local hills to the front, The cottage sleeps four people and has been renovated to the highest standards. .On the ground floor Squirrels Drey has a double bedroom with king size bed, from here a patio door leads out to a private yard behind the cottage which is a real sun trap. A twin bedroom with bunk beds and bathroom with over bath shower, WC, baisin and heated towel rail. Lovely cottage with everything you could ever need. Absolutely spotless with the added bonus of using the owners membership at Armathwaite Hall where we used the swimming pool which was fantastic. Would have loved to have stayed longer!!.

We were all so impressed with the standard of this cottage. Small family run business which is ideal for relaxation or exploring the Lake District. The complementary spa passes were a nice touch. I would highly recommend to friends and family. Great value for money...More

My husband, dog and and I wanted to spend Chirstmas in the lakes and we had a wonderful stay at Squirrels Drey. It is great for a getaway in the middle of no where. The house is amazing, we couldn't believe how lovely it was....More

Cockermouth

Set at the confluence of the rivers Cocker and Derwent, Cockermouth is a quaint market town, which although dates back to medieval era the main period of growth was during the Georgian period of the early eighteenth century.

The town is eight miles north-west of Keswick hosts a number galleries, river walks and places of historical interest. Cockermouth is the birth place of poet William Wordsworth.

This gem of a town with ample galleries, river walks and historic Cockermouth Castle. Lots of pubs, specialist shopping and restaurants. Close to Bassenthwaite Lake there are so many other things to do and see in Cockermouth, making it the perfect family location. Cockermouth also does not suffer overcrowding of some of the more central Lake District towns.
