Great peaceful location near to fantastic walks
Very friendly owner, clean cottage, very quiet and only 2 miles from brecon. We went walking and only a short drive from some of the trailheads.

Perfect!
We stayed here with a group of 10 of us for the weekend. We selected this location as there were good reviews and it was possible to accommodate all of us by using two cottages. There was fishing on-site and was ideally locate close by to activities, such as paintballing.
The owner was very helpful and even arranged for a taxi for us (as we were unable to pronounce the cottage name!). The accommodation was as promised and was clean and tidy - as you'd expect/hope.
I would recommend the cottages to groups or families. We definitely plan on returning.

Two cottages and a bungalow near to the farmhouse on a working sheep farm in the countryside outside of Brecon. At the end of a long private road we were greeted by the owners and one of their retired sheepdogs. They live in the farmhouse next door and couldn't be nicer. Kids loved having the sheepdogs around and the idyllic views of the beacons were outstanding, good area for walking straight from the farm itself or in the nearby national park. Cottage itself was the smaller of two semi-detached properties and was beautifully furnished with two bedrooms downstairs and the living area and kitchen upstairs - a topsy-turvy house as my 4yr old noted. The cottage is lovely and has all mod cons including central heating, shower, bath, satellite TV boardgames and even reasonable Wi-Fi through a mobile dongle, we found that the noise did carry between the two cottages though which was the only slight negative we encountered in an otherwise perfect few days.

About the neighbourhood
Brecon is a market town which is famed for its ancient Cathedral, its Georgian architecture and its Jazz Festival (held annually in August).
Brecon lies in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons and is a popular holiday base which offers a range of activities and leisure facilities. The town lies on the bank of the River Usk and is the terminus of the Monmouth and Brecon Canal.
There are many attractions to visit including a Norman Cathedral with its own heritage centre, two museums: the South Wales Borderers Museum, which contains memorabilia of the Regiment's defence of Rourke's Drift and the Brecknock Museum which is situated in the Town's elegant former courthouse and is packed full of fascinating exhibits.
The River Usk flows through the town and the promenade along the Usk is an ideal area for a gentle stroll, you can even enjoy boating on the river. New additions to the town are Bethel Square Shopping Centre and Theatre Brycheiniog.
The National Park is full of wonderful places for you and the family to enjoy the wonders of nature.
There are a huge number of things going on throughout the year, ranging from the internationally known Brecon Jazz or Hay Literature Festival to open days, walks and activities
To the east lie the Black Mountains, with a high point of 811 metres at Waun Fach. They also form a natural border with Herefordshire, in England. The Central Beacons dominate the skyline to the south of the town of Brecon and rise to 886 metres at Pen y Fan, the highest point in southern Britain.Further west lies the sandstone massif of Fforest Fawr, comprising a series of hills known as 'Fans', with Fan Fawr being the highest point at 734 metres. Water rushing southwards from this area has formed steep river valleys with spectacular waterfalls.
