Interaction with guestsI love the area that I live in and have become a Brecon Beacons Ambassador. I can offer you as much or as little local knowledge as you require which together with the literature in the Coach House should help you get the most from the area. Whilst respecting your privacy I am usually available if required.

The coach house has everything you need and a great welcome pack ! "Starter" provisions are more than generous with added extra touches like toiletries , that you don't usually get with a rental property. Valerie and Peter very knowledgeable re the area and always happy to help. Loved that the dogs came to the door to say good morning most days! A great base to explore the surrounding area and to come back to for a glass of wine on the patio in the evening if you can dodge the fleeting showers! Thanks for a great holiday both!Would highly recommend.

Lovely stay. This was our second visit to the Coach House. The cosy, well appointed cottage and the idyllic location with stunning walks nearby make it the perfect "get away from it all" in all weathers. Thank you Valerie and Peter (our hosts) for your very warm welcome.

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived at the Coach House, along with two beautiful dogs, so well behaved !! The Coach House is very well appointed, with many extras and a lovely welcome pack, milk, tea, coffee,a bottle of wine Welsh cakes and homemade jam. The cottage is very comfortable and warm, we had some damp weather during our stay but didn't spoil our time there. Valerie gave us a lot of information about the Brecon Beacons though, we were not able to visit much due to the rain. Valerie and Peter were great hosts and we enjoyed our time there. We will be visiting again !

This lovely little cottage is beautifully set with stunning views and a wide range of wildlife. I took the opportunity to go outside in the pitch dark to stargaze ..wonderful. The hosts are welcoming and very knowledgeable of the local area. The Welsh National parks make for great walking and many of the local pubs and restaurants serve extremely good food. Highly recommended

Caroline thanks for your lovely review. It is indeed amazing to see the stars on a clear night because of our exceptionally dark skies here at Aberyscir Coach House.

Amazing hosts and a perfect stay. Very personalised and lovely touches with the orange juice, jams and other things. Your insightful knowledge of Brecon and the surrounding areas were great, we managed to do most of them. A perfect location, very rural which is something we definitely wanted. To be able to sit in the swing outside and watch the stars at night really was the icing on the cake. I’ve never seen the sky so beautiful. We will definitely return. Thanks once again.

The coach house was perfect! We had everything we needed and more! All the comforts of home plus the welcome pack contained the best home made marmalade and jar of plum jam that I have ever tasted. The views were stunning and we had the most wonderful starry sky at night, it took my breath away. Perfect base for travelling to places of interest. We did not want to leave! Valerie & Peter, the owners, are friendly, helpful and have great local knowledge. We will definitely visit again. Thank you Valerie & Peter for a lovely week.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip around Wales. What a great stay. The Coach House is in a lovely setting and very well set up with everything you need. The welcome pack was much appreciated which included a bottle of local apple juice, yum The fresh eggs from "The girls" were also very welcome. We couldn't fault this stay where Valerie and Peter went out of their way to help. Directions to local attractions were always forthcoming, even with maps supplied at times. It is a beautiful area and we saw much of this with the directions given. Thanks again to you both. A highly recommended stay.

Thank you for a great review and it was a pleasure to share our little corner of the Brecon Beacons with you. Glad to provide you with maps of some of the lesser known routes which can offer unexpected glorious views, often all to yourselves.

A lovely little cottage in a great location close to Brecon and the Beacons. The cottage contains everything 2 people could need for a cosy stay and the welcome pack on arrival was a lovely bonus. We combined our visit to the area to catching up with friends who live locally and also relatives in Bristol so didn't spend a huge amount of time at the cottage or exploring the nearby walks, but would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful location to unwind and relax. .... and the bed is one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in on a holiday! Thank you for a lovely week.

About the neighbourhood
Brecon is a good base to explore the Brecon Beacons and has a beautiful Cathedral and two museums, one for The Welsh Borderer's made famous at Rouke's Drift in the film Zulu. There are shops, cafes and restaurants catering to many tastes and budgets. In August the famous Jazz Festival takes place together with a growing 'fringe festival' in the pubs. From the cottage can be seen remains of an iron age fort, Roman road and drovers green tracks. All of the park's attractions are within an easy drive and the local busses are able to return you to the car after a long walk!
Getting around
The nearest train station is Abergavenny and from there you can get a bus to Brecon. We are then another 2.5 miles out of town via taxi. It is possible to visit some areas by bus but it is a country service so not as frequent as towns.
