These original features have been combined with the open-plan style and contemporary features of 21st-century living to provide a calm and relaxing environment. The modern open plan kitchen and dining area have all the appliances one would expect from a state of the art kitchen while retaining the original grand period features of the room. The lounge also has a remotely controlled gas fire, very authentic, within an impressive Georgian fireplace for cosy nights in. All windows have working shutters. The property comes with state of the art media entertainment and communications including Sony flat screen - full HD, Blue Ray DVD, fast broad band via wifi. There is also plenty of free on-street parking, a major asset in any city. The nearest bus route is just 5 mins. round the corner with buses departing every 5 minutes directly to Princes Street, where the journey time is approx 10 mins - extremely close to the city centre without the same extent of noise and traffic. .More

About the neighbourhood
The Leith area of Edinburgh is rich in history and grew as a result of trade, with many merchants' houses and warehouses. This was where ships off loaded their cargoes at The Shore where they were collected by Edinburgh merchants. Nowadays, Leith is known for it’s fantastic bars and restaurants, boasting two Michelin Star restaurants located within about 5 minutes of each other! Combined with the pleasant sense of space and light over the Links, means that you often avoid the hassle of heading into town, with the requisite parking problems etc
Getting around
You can walk to the city centre within 30 minutes, just walk towards Tesco, turn right, first left onto Leith Walk and follow this interesting street into the city. The trams run from the top of the Walk at York Place out to the Airport. (40 mins to the Airport). There’s a bus stop at the Foot of Leith Walk, just as you turn left on to it. Buses 12, 16, 22, 25 will take you to Princes St. Buy your ticket from the driver (correct change only). A day ticket will cost you £4 and can be used on buses and trams unlimited throughout the day. Parking is free and mainly unrestricted on the streets around the flat.
