About the neighbourhood
Edinburgh's New Town is actually over 200 years old. It was built in the mid-to-late 18th Century to cope with the overcrowding in what is now known as the Old Town, both of which have now been declared a world heritage sites. Take a walk round the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens to the North of the City Centre - just a relaxing stroll away. If shopping is on your agenda then Princes Street has a variety of department stores, not forgetting the boutique shops a short walk away on Multrees Walk. Whilst you're there why not have a break in Harvey Nichols rooftop cafe to take in the view.
Getting around
Access to most areas within the city is achievable by foot, the beauty of Edinburgh being a relatively small city centre. If you would rather sit back and relax, there are several sightseeing bus tours to take advantage of. The City also has an excellent public transport network which includes the recently new Tram network.
