Right on the docks (with its restaurants and shops). Ten minutes' walk to the city centre and cathedral. Renovated in a modern fashion but maintains its period charm. Dorota and Mike (the owners are very friendly and helpful).

About the neighbourhood
The former dock estate has become a popular free destination where visitors can enjoy interesting views and a range of modern facilities while wandering around a remarkably complete example of a Victorian port. Views include many fine warehouses and other dock-related buildings that have been found new uses. Where ships once discharged their cargoes, there is now an ever-changing miscellany of visiting narrow boats, smart motor cruisers and the occasional yacht or tall ship. The whole area is suitable for wheel-chairs.
How to get there
The cottage is set within Gloucester Docks, off Southgate Street (A4301). If travelling from the M5 north, exit at junction 11 and follow the signs towards Gloucester Docks on the A40 northern by-pass. At the Over Bridge roundabout turn left onto the A417 Over Causeway and follow the signs to Gloucester Docks. Carry on along The Quay and into Commercial Road, which leads onto Southgate Street. If travelling from the M5 south, exit at junction 12 onto the B4008 following the signs to Gloucester City Centre/Gloucester Docks on the A38 Bristol Road. Proceed on towards the city and carry on into Southgate Street. Just after passing the Tall Ship pub on the left you will see the entrance.
