Our cottages are inspected annually by the Quality in Tourism Board and have all been awarded the highest possible grading of 5* Gold and Mobility 1 assessed. The Old Stables is a superb, spacious, cottage ideal for gatherings of friends and family with a huge living/dining/kitchen area and enormous established gardens. Outside is a fully enclosed rear garden suitable for small children and a huge walled garden leading from the conservatory with outdoor seating.. On site facilities include tennis court, childrens play area. Pet chickens, ponies and lambs at spring time - plus resident owners. Great walks from our door, visiting wildlife. Just an hours drive from Manchester, Liverpool and the Lake District, with historic cities Lancaster, Chester and York within travelling distance. The location was perfect for our family get together - this was an all age group 80th birthday and catered for us all perfectly. The hosts where fantastic very helpful and genuinely nice people. We'll definately be going again!

About the neighbourhood
Whilst our surrounding countryside is beautiful, there are many places that our guests wish to visit. A traditional place is the Lake District, usually Windermere and Ambleside, which can be reached in less than an hour from here. Lots of pretty villages and towns, amazing views, but also very busy. Blackpool is a very famous seaside town just a 35 minute drive from here. The Pleasure Beach now has a Nickleodeon theme for younger children. The Pepsi Max roller coaster and other thrilling rides. An ice rink and shows. The Tower is worth a visit, with the ballroom that held the finals of Strictly Come Dancing; plus an amazing circus. Sandcastles is a tropical indoor pool on the promenade. The Illuminations in autumn on the promenade with tram and horse carriage rides. The football gro...
Getting around
Having your own vehicle is by far the easiest option. However, there is a public bus route on the main A6 road, 2 miles away. The nearest train station is Lancaster. There are also some local taxi firms based in Garstang that have been used by many of our guests.
