It is a beautifully furnished, detached property occupying a very private position on the edge of the Estate. The accommodation has been designed with great thought and style for the privacy of the occupants including all five bedrooms being en-suite. The beautiful Bonython Estate Gardens, which guests are welcome to explore, comprises some 20 acres with a recently renovated walled garden and potager and a hidden valley with three small lakes. The gardens are one of ‘The Great Gardens of Cornwall'. Bonython Estate is a traditional mixed agricultural Cornish estate with ancient manor, farm and woodland stretching almost from one side of the Peninsular (the Helford River) to the other (the beach at Poldhu Cove) with both shores just over a mile away. The Estate is close to the amenities of the small towns and villages nearby. It is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful coves and coastal pathways, the majority now owned by the National Trust. The Lizard offers that beautiful unspoilt mix of Cornish magic with world-renowned beaches such as Kynance Cove and Kennack Sands and numerous fishing villages including Coverack, Cadwith and Mullion, famous for Cornish crab and lobsters. This holiday at a glance Sleeps ten guests. Five en-suite bedrooms, including one ground floor double bedroom. Under 10 minutes' drive to the coast. Front and rear gardens. Guests also have access to the Bonython Estate Gardens. Two wood burning stoves. Children and infants welcome. Two well behaved dogs welcome. WiFi. Off-street parking. Minimum three night stay. Additional features Two electric ovens with hobs and one further oven only. Two fridge/freezers, two dishwashers and one microwave. Washing machine and tumble dryer. Three televisions with Sky TV. Two DVD players. CD player and digital radio. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Wooden tables and chairs seating 10 (summer months only). Attractions and nearby amenities Across the Lizard Peninsular are many wonderful villages including Cadgwith, Mullion and Connor Downs, which offer a selection of places to eat, farm shops, and delicatessens. For a good lunch or afternoon tea followed by ice cream stop, by Rosikilly's in St. Keverne. The closest towns are Porthleven and Helston which provide further places to shop and eat. Porthleven's selection of restaurants is particularly good where places to try include Rick Stein's Restaurant, The Square and Kota Kai with its harbour-side location offering lovely sea views. With the majority of the neighbouring land being owned by the National Trust, The Lizard has many renowned beaches such as Poldhu Cove, a favourite amongst locals and visitors, surfers and wildlife watchers and Kynance Cove, with its contrasting wide sandy beach and the dark red and green serpentine rock producing breath-taking sights. Kennack Sands is near the village of Kuggar comprising of two beaches with some grassy areas which are divided by a small hill called Carn Kennack and a rock feature called Caerverracks. There is a nature reserve to the east of the beach which can be reached along the footpath which runs along the back of the beach and over Carn Kennack. The closest of the various beautiful gardens to enjoy is of course Bonython Estate Garden. Other gardens in driving distance include Trebah Garden and Glendurgan Garden at Mawnan Smith, Bosvigo Gardens and Trelissick Garden near Truro and St. Michael's Mount by Marizion. Two attractions which are well worth visiting are the Lizard Lighthouse at Lizard Point and the Goonhilly Earth Station at Goonhilly Downs where you can see the largest satellite dishes in the Northern Hemisphere.
