Lovingly restored to the highest modern standards, this stunning farmhouse enjoys panoramic views of the rolling Barbera hills and Alps beyond. Located between Asti and Nizza Monferrato, it is ideal for families & anyone who enjoys the delights of Piedmontese cuisine and wine. The house has a generous open plan kitchen, which give wonderful views out from the huge French windows over the landscaped herb garden, to the rolling hills beyond. It's fireplace next to the long dinning table make it a wonderful place to relax over a delicious meal. The living room also has a fire, 2 sofas, one of which can be converted into a 2 person bed. This delightful room with original brick vaulted ceilings is a wonderful place to relax, watch English Satellite TV or the large collection of DVDs. There are 2 further toilets in the property. All the windows have in-built, open-able mosquito screens, and so natural ventilation and electric fans are sufficient to provide the cooling necessary in summer. The property is L shaped made up of three houses and associated barns. Two of these houses have been renovated, and are used solely by the guests. The third house is awaiting restoration.. For parties up to 10 people, or if you require 3 full double beds, a further double bedroom and bathroom can be rented in an attached wing of the property. About the neighbourhood
Mombercelli is one of the principal areas where the prized white truffles are found in Piedmont. Our neighbour is a regular lecturer at Eataly in Turin, and in the Truffle season, when he is not busy running his agriturismo restaurant he is happy to show novices how he goes truffle hunting with his dogs. Mombercelli holds its annual Truffle Festival every 3rd Sunday in October. The culture of teh grape is evident everywhere. The gently rolling hills are covered with vineyards, and local wines include Barbera, Moscato, Gavi, sparkling wines of Asti and the lesser known dry Cortese. Wine tastings in the many local independent wine producers is a great way to spend the afternoon.
