Cottage
The building is a wonderful stone cottage dating back to the early 1800's located in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property sits within a small valley and is surrounded by open countryside. Within the boundary walls are large beautiful cottage gardens and are ideal for children to play in. The Cottage has a wealth of features such as wooden beams and a spiral stair case. It is also well equipped with appliances and has wood stoves in both the kitchen and the living room. A comfortable and well-designed kitchen with wooden hand built units, a large work space between the kitchen and the dining area, so plenty of room to chat sociably while preparing a meal. There is a Belfast sink, double electric oven, a halogen hob, fridge, microwave, and plenty of work and storage space. A disused tram line runs behind the cottage and connects the canal to the escarpment. One of Europe's biggest cave systems can be found in the escarpment and its an enjoyable walk through the Craig-Y-Cilau Nature Reserve to access one of the biggest entrances to the caves. The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal is located close by with many historic features from this era within walking distance of the house. Cwmbach Farm Cottage is ideal for people seeking a quiet relaxing holiday. The property is also well suited for those enjoying outdoor activities such as walking, caving, mountain biking or cycling. The village of Llangattock is 1.5km away and Crickhowell is 2.0km away. The area also offers many attractions and events throughout the year, from festivals and shows to farmers markets and attractions such as Big Pit, The national Coal Museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attractions such as Big Pit, The national Coal Museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lovely accommodation, very relaxing week. Very pleasant location with plenty to do. Children had great fun playing in the stream and I'm the garden.

Absolutely loved it
What an amazing week we had, just a shame we couldn't have stayed longer / forever. Idyllic setting with an amazing view of Mynydd Llangatwg (Llangattock Mountain) - and amazing view from the top of the mountain looking back down to the cottage too. The 3yr old and 6yr old loved playing in the stream, as did all the adults too! The garden was alive with visiting birds and even the odd rabbit and squirrel too. Younger children might struggle with the spiral staircase, but our 3 yr old was fine with it. We never ventured too far away, but Dan Yr Ogof show caves were about an hour drive - but the drive along the A40 was worth the trip in itself, some amazing scenery. Would we stay again? The only thing stopping us would be that having to leave a second time would be even harder than having to leave this time!

Met our expectations, comfortable, clean, well equipped, peaceful.
We (3 adults, 2 teenagers) enjoyed our stay at Cwmbach Farm Cottage. Bedrooms very clean and comfortable with easy access to toilets. Upstairs bedrooms accessed via a steep spiral staircase which would be difficult for anyone with mobility difficulties, the downstairs bedroom had French doors opening on to a patio, with superb views. The lounge was large and comfortable, with basic TV programs - the teenagers used their i-pads from the wi-fi. Mobile phone signal was weak inside, but adequate outside. The kitchen was well equipped, nice quality pots, pans and crockery. Plenty of walks and cycle tracks in the vicinity, and tourist attractions (e.g. Big Pit, steam railways, Welsh castles) Eating out v.g. at The Bear Hotel, Crickhowell, and The Three Horseshoes, Groesffordd, near Brecon. One caution, if the sheep are in the field, watch where you put your feet! Finally, "Thank you Nia, for being so friendly and helpful, making a memorable holiday for us." Yours sincerely, Arthur.

Everything you could possibly ask for.
Cwmbach Farm House was the perfect place for a family holiday. Full of charm and character but with all the facilities a family needs. Can't think of anything that was missing from the house it was like home from home even down to a cot, highchair and shelves full of toys for the children. Its location was off the beaten track set in stunning grounds with beautifully kept gardens and a huge space to explore with its own lovely field and stream. We found loads of interesting things to do and places to visit in the surrounding areas and a fantastic mountain to climb on the doorstep! Nia was very helpful before we arrived answering my telephone queries and was equally warm and friendly when we met her at the property. Where else would your arrival be met with a tin of freshly baked Welsh Cakes on the table for you and a bottle of milk in the fridge? Just perfect, we'd love to return.
