The fabulously named Runner Duck Cottage can be found surrounded by glorious Derbyshire countryside in a rural location offering simply stunning views. Set on the grounds of the owners’ home, which is also shared with horses and ducks, the detached cottage is stone built and perfectly placed for outdoor enthusiasts with access to miles of public footpaths direct from the door. Cutthorpe itself is a sleepy village on the edge of the Peak District National Park, with three local pubs and home to the fabulous Linacre Reservoirs with their beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks.

There is always someone around to help with any issues you may have from where to walk your dogs to which eatery we recommend for your needs. We do not, however, intrude on you during your stay as we are busy with the animals on the property.

Very clean place. Thoughtful owner had provided all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Duck eggs, butter, milk etc. also kept in cottage! If I am nitpicking, the only point I would make is that the lack of a proper window downstairs or the...More

Set in a fairly remote part of Derbyshire, you will need a car to get here and also to get out an about to visit attractions and or the shops for provisions.
There are lovely walks directly from Runner Duck Cottage if you want to stay close to your base.
Bakewell, Chatsworth, Eyam and Castleton are all within a short car journey There are a variety of local places to eat. From 'good pub grub', nice bar meals to top quality restaurants, were not far from any.
Getting around
Chatsworth House and Gardens are only a few miles away, then you can move onto Bakewell and beyond.
In the other direction there's the old market town of Chesterfield with its famous Crooked Spire.
