Interaction with guests: The owners, Mike and Laura, live at the property year round (except for too few vacation times!). We are available to help with recommendations, arranging spa services, fishing or mainland tours - just about anything Belize. There is a dive shop 20 seconds away to schedule diving/snorkeling tours - which we suggest you do on your own as they are highly dependent on your schedule and weather. There is also a great guest book in each suite with suggestions for restaurants, things to do, live music venues, shopping and more.
I am writing this review very late but only because I think about this amazing stay often!!! We stayed here in May and lovely is an understatement. We had spent a week and a half traveling around Belize and this place was the perfect way to conclude our trip. We stayed a week in San Pedro, first few days in the city and last few days we had originally booked in secret beach. We went to secret beach on one of our first days upon arriving to San Pedro and although it was BEAUTIFUL we didn’t want to be around the partying. We last minute decided to book this place and it was the best decision we made on our trip. The location is perfect perfect perfectttt!!!! You have your own private little beach (although shared with neighbors but hardly saw anyone) away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to get to quickly. There was a pier right outside of mikes place that had a beautiful over the water restaurant we went to often. The restaurant also had scuba trips/ snorkeling trips that would pick you up with a boat right there on the pier. Again this was the last few days of our trip so we were tired and the easy access to snorkeling trips was perfect!! At night time the restaurant has live music, cute lights , very romantic. Besides the perfect location Mike was extremely kind and helpful! Had a binder of fun things to do in the area, good restaurants. He was really helpful giving us advice on what to do in the area, helped us with booking activities. Mike also offers to book massages/ facials/ pedicures on the roof of the building. We booked a couples massage around sunset and it was amazing. He also advised we do a snorkeling trip, we swam with nurse sharks and It was incredible!! . Can not recommend this place more. If hesitant just do it! Thank you Mike for the incredible stay and we hope to come again :)

Beautiful rooms, great location
Twisted Palms Villas is by far our favorite place to stay on the island. My wife and I have been to San Pedro over 10 times, sometimes staying at multiple hotels/resorts in one trip. This is by far the best place we have stayed. Far enough from town so it is very quiet, but close enough going to town takes like 5 min on a golf cart. Some really great restaurants and bars are a quick walk from the room. The rooms are loaded with anything you would need while you are there, blenders, toasters, utensils you name it. Rooms are in immaculate condition, only a couple years old. The pool is never crowded, there is only 6 rooms. Last but not least, Mike and Laura work their butts off to help all their guests with anything that could come up. They are full of suggestions for activities, food, drinks or whatever. They are almost always around and are right up stairs. They make Twisted Palms feel like a second home.

Clean, nice location, comfortable
North of bridge, away but not too far away. Symbiotic relationship with next door dive bar was nice. Walked to town without issue.

Paradise
We went with my sister in law and her husband for their 30th anniversary, it was great!! We had adjoining rooms on the first level with great views of the pool and ocean! The interior was well appointed, beautiful decor, comfortable beds, cold ac and a great maid service. The view from the rooftop is amazing, don't miss it!! The location is perfect for whatever you want to do on the island! The hosts, Mike and Laura, make you feel at home and took care of all our needs. We felt like VIPs!! Truly a gem in the crown of San Pedro!!

Perfect ocean front suite
Mike and Laura were great hosts, they assisted us with everything prior to the visit. We were very happy with the accommodations and the location was perfect, close to everything but still nice and quiet. We definitely plan on returning.

Twisted Palm Villas is fantastic
My wife and I had a great week at Twisted Palm Villas. Mike and Laura were the most helpful hosts, and their high-quality Villas were just steps from the pool and ocean.
We walked for miles on day 1, but I recommend a golf cart, because there is so much to see and do. Plus, the “golf cart driving experience” is something we still laugh about.
Mike arranged golf carts, flights, boats, taxis, and snorkeling, and made other great recommendations. When we return to San Pedro, we will definitely stay at Twisted Palm Villas.

Clean, cool and beautiful ocean-front condo away from the crowds and close to everything
We loved staying in this clean and modern condo on the beach within walking distance of downtown San Pedro. The location was quiet, with stunning views, and within walking distance to town and other fun areas, by way of a beautiful trail at the water's edge. The Dive Bar next door was very convenient for food, cocktails, and allows use of kayaks for exploring the nearby reef without a guide! It was nice to get takeout one night and enjoy dinner in the hammock with a view of the full moon over the ocean. Paradise!

Wonderful place to stay!
We thought this was the perfect location as it's right on the beach, with restaurants and bars in walking distance, just a short distance outside of the city where there's a lot of small town hustle and bustle.
Mike and Laura are wonderful hosts! They offered to arrange for golf cart rental and pick up at the airport or a taxi ride. We like to walk and ride bikes so we decided to save money and not rent a golf cart. Although, when going out at night with our friends across town, it was sure nice to have a ride in their cart. We did some bar-hopping and had a ball. It was nice not to have to walk.
Our Villa was beautiful and clean, exactly like the pictures! The roof deck is awesome, I took a nap up there! We made friends with the other guests in the building. It was social but, very mellow, just what we hoped for!
Our favorite places to eat were the Tipsy Grill, just a little Shack down the road but, you must try their stewed chicken, it was the best on the island that we experienced. And the Mayan fish at the Dive Bar was to die for. The best drinks are also at the Dive Bar as you get full size glasses. Some bars we went to, the prices were the same but, the drinks were served in small plastic cups. We also recommend Elvi's kitchen for dinner, one of our most delicious and memorable meals.
One thing no one mentioned in advance....the sand fleas! I highly recommend wearing insect repellent most of the time as we came home with our legs all bitten up from the first two nights on the island. Fyi, A lot of the restaurants have sand floors.

About the neighbourhood
Ambergris Caye and San Pedro have a small island, small community feel. There are not a lot of 'dress up' restaurants, but expect to have some great food and eating experiences while on the island. The island is 24 miles long and up to 1 mile wide in some areas. Feel free to explore it all, although there are a few neighborhoods off the beaten path to avoid after 8 or 9 pm (probably like where you live!).
The locals are very friendly towards travelers and visitors. Most locals are very curious about visitors and want to know their 'story'. There is a good sense of service on the island - everyone wanting to make sure you have a great time while you're here. Don't get in a hurry, though. Slow down and enjoy the pace!
Getting around
Most people get around by walking, bikes or golf carts. Travelers mostly prefer golf carts! But even though they can go 15-20 MPH...slow down and go 10! Take in what's around you and settle into the 'go slow' motto of the island and Belize!
We can arrange golf cart or bike rentals and have rate sheets available for both. The island is 24 miles long and up to 1 mile wide in some places, so if you wish to explore - get a golf cart. If you like your exercise, walk or get a bike. If R & R is #1 on your list - skip both and walk to nearby restaurants, bars, dive shops or grocery stores.
Our opinion? Get a golf cart for flexibility, unless you KNOW you are staying by the pool or beach all day!

From Belize International Airport (BZE) we can help arrange either air transfer or water taxi transfer to the island of Ambergris Caye. We have great information on options and pricing for both methods of transfer. Once on the island, we can arrange either golf cart or taxi pickup at the airport or water taxi dock. (There are no car rental companies on the island - only golf carts or bikes!).
