Villa Emerald met all of our expectations and more, we will definitely be coming back! The ocean is five steps away from your front step and between relaxing by the water, visiting town and scuba diving we never ran out of things to do.
The villa itself is very clean, spacious and has a well equipped kitchen. The inside layout is perfect for families or multiple couples traveling together.

The most amazing vacation
My family and I were lucky enough to visit the beautiful country of Belize and have an amazing place to stay. The beach front was one of a kind not to mention the massages we were able to get on the dock! Truly a one of a kind place to stay. We will be back sooner than later to stay in our same place!!

Dreaming of returning to Villa Emerald
I am just over three weeks back from my wonderful and relaxing stay at the Villa Emerald on the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye, Belize and I am not letting the hectic return to a crazy life let me forget what a great vacation spot this Villa is. This was my first visit to a tropical island and I was really uncertain what to expect. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly staff. They carried our luggage to the Villa and had the A/C so we could get settled in and take in the wonderful views of the ocean. In our bedrooms, we were greeted by our towels folded whimsically like swans. Both the master bedroom and the 2nd bedroom had very comfortable beds, private screened in porches, and terrific views of the ocean. The kitchen at Villa Emerald has everything you need to cook meals and a even a dishwasher. From the Villa, we had a short walk to a meal and cocktails at Portofino, or Bon Fire and live island music on Sunday nights at the Sun Deck restaurant and bar. It was also a short drive (by golf cart) to Rojo Beach Bar and Lounge along with some other restaurants. It was also located not from Secret Beach. While at the Villa Emerald, I was able to enjoy my morning coffee and read on the comfortable deck lounge chairs. The grounds where immaculately kept and the pool was right next to the Villa Emerald for lounge and sun bathing and drinking rum. The staff was always available when we needed something, more bottled water... recommendations for some restaurant or where to get groceries... and they helped us plan our day trips to the mainland (Mayan ruins, Ziplining over the jungle, ATM Cave tubing, and snorkeling on the reef... and with sharks!). I would highly recommend Villa Emerald for your next get away to Belize. Oh... and the bathrooms and walk in showers were huge and beautifully tiled!

Simply Amazing!
This place was everything I could have imagined and more! The people were incredibly nice and helpful. The place was so clean and comfortable. I was so relaxed. The pool was so clean and inviting. 5 miles from town and 5 miles from secret beach. Everything was so accessible. Great places to eat within walking distance. I can’t wait to go back!

Unforgettable Stay at Emerald Villa in Tropical Island Paradise!!
I stayed at La Perla for a week with a friend for a much needed vacation and can't recommend it highly enough!! Thank you so much to all of the wonderful and attentive staff who took care of us during our trip!
We stayed at Emerald Villa which has the perfect beachfront location within the resort - yet still feels secluded and private. It is truly beautiful with stunning ocean views and plenty of comfortable spots to relax and unwind including loungers and hammocks. The villa was immaculate, the Wi-Fi was superfast and very reliable, powerful shiny AC units to keep cool at night and thankfully my bed was SO comfy - crucial after a full day of Scuba! The kitchen has all you need to cook for yourself should you wish and we also used the grill on our deck one night. Alternatively, there are some very good restaurants and cool spots within a 5- 10 min stroll along the beach (Rojo was our favourite).
La Perla is a few miles north of town - ideal because it's far enough away from the noise and hustle of San Pedro but close enough to be very easily accessible by golf cart or water taxi should you need to get there - also not too far from Secret Beach which is worth a visit.
The pool area is well maintained, the water is clean and there are plenty of loungers to relax. We also spent a few nights catching fish off the pier at sunset.
The staff were amazing at clearing the Seagrass daily to the point where I honestly barely even noticed any smell most of the time.
Safe to say all my friends back in snowy Connecticut were pretty jealous of my week and I'm already wishing I was back there! If you're considering La Perla and Emerald Villa then just go for it, I promise you won't be disappointed!!

First Time in Belize, Definitely Not the Last at Villa Emerald
While my family had been to Belize before, this was my first time and I really enjoyed it. Having grown up in the Caribbean, I understand that each place is going to have it's strengths and some drawbacks.
Because of the reef, I knew there would be great scuba diving, but not to expect amazing beaches. So while that is true, the beach in front of Villa Emerald was really good and a perfect backdrop to some amazing pictures.
The Villa was very nice with very cool Belizian art and decorations. It's well maintained, clean, and had all the necessities. It really feels like you're renting an authentic beach home rather than a generic hotel room. The air conditioning was great because Belize definitely gets hot and it felt really good to sleep in a nice cold bedroom. The bathrooms are huge which is nice for spreading out on vacation.
Location wise it is a bit further away from town, but there were some restaurants within walking distance along the beach. The only thing about walking on the beach is just the smell of the seagrass along some of the areas past La Perla is pretty strong, but not much you can do about that. Overall, La Perla is only 12 houses, so you'll pretty much always feel like you've got a little piece of paradise to yourself, so enjoy it.

Private and Secluded Belizian Getaway with Great Air Conditioning
We stayed at La Perla's Villa Emerald over Thanksgiving and had such a wonderful time. The house itself has the best, in my opinion, view of the beach and water. The sunsets in the morning were simply incredible. Beyond that, we were looking at whether to rent a condo or this house and we're so glad we went the house route. When you go to Belize, you want to relax and not be surrounded by a ton of people and this place is convenient enough to town, but secluded enough so you are actually able to de-stress. Loved being able to just walk out the front door and lay in the hammock and read.
The staff did a great job with removing the daily seagrass accumulation, which is plaguing the entire island and Caribbean. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and it was comforting to see the security staff keeping an eye on things at night.
The Villa itself is well-appointed and from what I hear, has among the newest air conditioners in the whole complex, including two in the main room, and one in each bedroom. We cooked breakfast every morning and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary tools to put together a pretty decent meal. The beds were very comfortable, which is important because nobody wants to go on vacation and go back home with a sore back.
We came to Belize for the scuba diving and it did not disappoint. Saw lots of turtles, sharks, and fish. We utilized the water taxi vs. renting a golf-cart, which we preferred as it's a little faster and more convenient.
We walked to Portofino, Matachica, and Rojo for dinners, which were all good.

Perfect Island Getaway
The location was perfectly located to provide peace and serentiy but it was also just a short golf cart ride to town. When walking up to the condo, at first glance we were floored with how beautiful the exterior view of the condo was but that wasn't all. The second we walked in to the condo we were immediately welcomed with a feeling of comfort, relaxation and cleanliness within the villa. The concerige (Alexis and Felix) were nothing short of amazing, they were both extremely accommodating not to mention they also helped me plan my proposal. I couldn't have done it without them, with all of their help, we succeeded, I got engaged on the beautiful white sandy beach in front of La Perla Villa Emerald! Our trip to San Pedro and our stay at Villa Emerald will be a trip we will never forget and we will definitely be going back!
Last but not least, very important, the only thing I can say for future visitors, pack the strongest deet you can find because the sand flies (aka botlass flies) are the worst. Other than that everything was perfect!

Fantastic beach front accomodation and amenities - easy access to water taxi and walking distance to great restaurants!
I stayed at La Perla, specifically Villa Emerald in June.
There are so many things to appreciate about La Perla. Wonderful restaurants are within walking distance. The grounds of La Perla are manicured daily, and throughout the day, including the beach front (walking up and down the beach, this isn’t the case at other properties). The swimming pool is wonderful, with easy access due to its central location to the Villa’s. Accessing the water taxi is easy, as it is a short walk to the pier, where there is a covered seating area. Wonderful restaurants are within walking distance, Portofino’s to the north and Matachica’s and Rojo’s to the south. As a Scuba Diver, we ate breakfast and lunch at The Dive Bar, which is a short water taxi ride away.
The accommodations of Villa Emerald were perfect. The best part of Villa Emerald is its commanding view of the ocean, as it sits 25 feet from the ocean front. The house offers a covered outdoor seating area facing the ocean off each of its two bedrooms, as well as an expansive wood deck on the front with comfortable lounge chairs and an outdoor table with bench seating. The house itself has a large central room perfect for serving as the family gathering place, including a large built in table that we gathered around for our morning coffee or for dinner (when we ate in). The room has been updated with antique furniture which gives the room a very comfortable, Caribbean feel. The kitchen is furnished with a full-sized refrigerator, more than large enough to accommodate our party of 4 for a week. In addition, it has an oven and stove top, microwave and dishwasher, all providing the convenience of home. The master suite is expansive, and well decorated. The guest room is also large, and has 2 queen size beds. Both the master and guest bathrooms are large. Both rooms offered plenty of closet space and drawers. Since it gets warm in Belize, some would say hot, Emerald has 4 (apparently new) AC units to maximize our comfort. One in each bedroom and two in the central room!
I can’t imagine a better location and a better home, as it checked every box on our vacation home wish list! I will definitely return!

Villa Emerald is Fantastic
I had the opportunity to stay at Villa Emerald, located at La Perla, for 7 nights in early October 2017. To say my stay was satisfactory is an understatement. Villa Emerald was the perfect lodging experience for my trip. The villa has an excellent beach front view and is 100 steps away from the nearest dock to catch a water taxi to take you to San Pedro or any location you wish along the coast of Ambergris Caye. The villa has two bedrooms that can accommodate 6. Each bedroom as a very spacious full bathroom. Each bedroom has its own AC unit and the living room / kitchen has two AC units and they do a great job at keeping the entire house cool and comfortable. The kitchen is fully loaded, you will be able to cook anything you want. The Villa also has its own Laundry room with a washer and dryer. I really enjoyed my stay at La Perla, the location is excellent and private. You are only 15 steps away from the beach and are within walking distance of great restaurants. You will not be disappointing with your stay at Villa Emerald.
