My husband and another couple (with their daughter) stayed at Casa Rana for a week in March 2023 and had a wonderful time. Ambergris Caye has a wide range of properties for rental and this house with accompanying waterfront property/pier was well suited for our needs. The house is spacious and well cared for. The property is located approximately 7 mi north of San Pedro in a quiet area and is perfect for families seeking a more secluded place with modern amenities. The dock/pier was one of the highlights, with abundant sea life literally a short walk away. There are small restaurants/bars nearby for a night out if desired.
I must give a shout out to the marvelous staff, James and Bea, for their help with our vacation. James is the property manager, but has a canny ability to facilitate guest experiences and conveniences, as well as an insightful knowledge about the area, the people, the animals and the plants. Bea is an excellent cook and insightful hostess and made our stay comfortable and satisfying. They made hospitality look effortless. Thank you so much!

Casa Rana is a delightful property. The team onsite made everything a breeze, from preparing wonderful, home-cooked meals, to cleaning and doing laundry, to making arrangements for snorkeling and fishing expeditions that pick you up from the property’s dock. Speaking of which, everyone should have a spot like the dock as their personal happy place. It’s amazing.

My family stayed at Casa Rana for Christmas holiday. The home was beautiful and everything as pictured. Beautiful, quiet area with everything you need on site. Richard, the owner stopped by several times to make sure we had everything we needed and assisted with any questions. James was on site and helped my son and husband with all their fishing needs and went out of his way to make sure they had a great experience. He was so helpful with arranging any rides we needed…due to rain and winds we needed a taxi vs golf cart for dinner in town. He also set us up for diving and snorkeling excursions. Bea kept the home nice and clean and cooked us an amazing dinner! We couldn’t get enough of her ceviche!!!
The home was about 35 minutes golf cart ride for us to town which isn’t bad but we had the bazaar weather front that hit us with high winds and rain so we didn’t explore the town other then dinners.
Overall everyone involved with the home was incredible and welcoming. We were treated great and plan to return!!

Stayed here with our family of 6 for 6 nights in December 2022. The house is beautiful, well maintained, and very comfortable, we really enjoyed spending time on the dock. James the caretaker made our stay seamless for us, assisting with excursions, advice and fishing. Highly recommend having Bea cook for your first night at least, we really appreciated having dinner ready for us. Richard and Diane were very helpful with advice from getting to the island to what to do and where to get what we needed. Highly recommend a stay here!

We had a fantastic time on our vacation and house is as described. James and Ms. Bea were terrific and really made our vacation special. Ms. Bea is a FANTASTIC cook and James was super helpful in setting up our excursions including our snorkeling trip and renting our golf cart. House owners were also very helpful in making suggestions and making sure everything was ok. My dining recommendations include Sweet Water, Portofino, Moon that are all close by the house. In downtown San Pedro I recommend Elvi's Kitchen. O

Casa Rana is a spectacular location and absolutely beautiful home with gorgeous views. Richard and Diana are wonderful, they own the home and are very gracious, kind hosts! James and Bea run the property and they are beyond fantastic. Bea cooked us dinner two nights, you absolutely must have her traditional Belizian dinner. We're still talking about it! James was awesome and he scheduled two great boat tours to snorkel. The snorkeling is amazing, the Mexico Rocks reef is a direct view from the home. The turquoise blue sea is beyond words. You can fish right off the deck under the palapa, so fun we had a great time! We rented a golf cart too and you can cruise around town ~ lots of great restaurants/bars. We carted to Secret Beach which was a super fun experience! Casa Rana is a beautiful home with very feng shui vibes. Richard was fantastic with responding to our questions and helping to prepare for the trip. We had a very relaxing week and would 100% recommend staying here! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

The house and property were perfect for our family...
The house and property were perfect for our family of six. The caretakers James and Bea were great. James did a great job lining up our excursions with the local guides and he is very knowledgeable about San Pedro. Bea is an amazing chef, highly recommend.

Amazing Casa Rana
Casa Rana is awesome. My family had the most amazing week in Belize and Bea, James, Richard and Casa Rana were a huge part of that success.
House - The house itself is lovely. The main part of the house has no AC, but we spent the majority of our time outside so that didn’t matter at all. Bedrooms all had AC and cooled super quick when we went to sleep. Beds were so comfortable. The beach is lovely white sand. Unfortunately their beautiful beach has seaweed at the shore, but that is every house on this side of the island. However the dock is so wonderful. It is huge, has 5 comfortable chairs, and you can swim off the dock. I would rent Casa Rana again even knowing this.
Richard was great giving me information on tours, provisioning, flights, etc. all the I do was very helpful.
James was super helpful. 1st he arranged everything we needed at the house. He set us up with kayaks and he was instrumental in helping us book a 2nd trip to the mainland when our 1st trip was cancelled. He arranged a one on one trip with a tour guide so we could still see the Mayan Ruins at Lamanai.
The house is 7 miles to town. With a golf cart, 4 miles of paved road, and 3 miles of unpaved road it is about a 45 min trip. Richard sends a cab to pick you up and drop off at the airport. It is a closer trip to Secret Beach from Casa Rana than town. And there are restaurants out towards the house. We went to Portofino and it was really good. We did not mind at all being 7 miles away from town. The main reason for this was that we had Bea cook dinner for us on 4 different nights. We went out 2 nights (one at Truck Stop and one at Portofino). The main reason that I booked Casa Rana was because of the reviews regarding Beas cooking. The reviews were 100% accurate. Her food was sooooo good. The coconut ceviche, the belizean chicken, all the rice…everything we ate. We had appetizers and dessert at every meal. It was sooooo good. If you wanted to be closer to town this might not be the house for you, but we loved being able to stay at the house, have dinner and then go have drinks on the beautiful dock.
While we were in Belize we also became PADI Certified. We did all online classes prior to the trip and then did our pool training at the house and all the open water dives in the reef. We used White Sands Dove shop and I totally recommend them. It is super close and we were picked up from the dock. I also recommend their fishing and beach bbq trip.
