Interaction with guestsRubio, our on-site caretaker lives with his wife Iris and son Luis in a little casita in the back of the property. So you have your privacy, but he is there if you need him. Rubio can help you set up the kayaks and show you the best spots for snorkeling. He is a free diver and will go out on the kayak with you and spear fish and lobster while you snorkel at the surface. He will barbecue your catch for you as well. Caye Management, our local management company is available to answer questions, book tours, and of course to deal with any problems that might arise.

Paradise
The Tree House lived up to all our expectations. Private, quite, clean, fully equipped. Huge deck was a huge bonus. The pier, the private beach, nice swimming (no sea grass!) Two bedrooms worked out perfectly. Super wi-did and TV (football and Hallmark Christmas movies!) We loved having Rubio on site to help with anything - and loved Princess the dog and the chickens!!! 20 mins by golf cart to San Pedro , heading north even nicer One recommendation would be for a few plastic lounge chairs for the beach Highly recommended. It won’t me my last time in Belize !

Adorable, clean, house in paradise
We loved this place! Felt like we were up in the palm trees. It had everything we needed to cook dinner after walking to the store around the corner. Coffee maker, games, and plenty of towels & books. Walk either direction up the beach to delicious restaurants. Rubio, the on-site caretaker, went fishing & offered the chance to purchase some beautifully cleaned fish. Alas, we had already bought groceries. Learn from our mistakes, ask Rubio when he’s fishing before going to the store! The owner, Lorna, and the home management company were responsive before & during our stay. Pick-up & drop-off to water taxi before & after the stay were included, which was a huge weight off our shoulders. Being next to Coral Divers trips was also a huge plus so we could go snorkeling right off the dock at the house & cave tube on the mainland. We were so sad to go. Definitely will recommend to all!

The location was exactly what we were looking for, it was quiet and the view from the property was stunning!
My husband and I had an absolute wonderful time at the Tree House! Rubio, the caretaker, and his family were amazing and so very nice! The property was clean and well maintained. It is off of the beaten path and that was exactly what we were looking for! FYI - The not so secret "Secret Beach" is only a 20 minute golf cart ride away from the Tree House and is a MUST SEE when you are there. We will definitely visit again and stay more than 7 days!

Perfect!!!
If you are looking for the Ritz, you won"t find it here, in fact, you probably won't find it any place on the island. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay with many things to do, you'll find it here. Treehouse is in a quiet neighborhood a few miles from town but is within walking distance of restaurants and a grocery store. If you decide to rent a golf cart, the local grocery store (about five minutes walking distance northbound on the road) is cheaper than rentals in town. We did a lot of snorkeling and scuba diving so were able to rely on the dive shops for transportation most of the time. They pick you up at your dock and are fine about dropping folks off wherever they want to go after your dive. If you do need other transportation, the water taxi is very reliable and always on time. Rubio, the house caretaker, was always available for any assistance we might need but never invaded our privacy. We loved the welcome home we got from his dog every evening when we came home. Gentle ocean breezes made air conditioning unnecessary. Waking up to beautiful sunrises and the quiet sounds of waves lapping the beach, is all anyone could ask for to make for a relaxing get away. We could go on and on about the wonders in this place but will let you discover them yourself. All in all, we loved our stay at Treehouse and found Treehouse and the island to be a friendly, relaxing, and fun place to stay. Would highly recommend Treehouse and the island.

Very Comfortable and Enjoyable Stay
My wife and I didn't know what to expect on our first trip to Belize. What we didn't want was a crowded environment with touristy activities. The tree house exceeded our expectations. The home is comfortable and is nestled on the beach with your own dock. We got to know the care-taker of the home and his family. They made us feel right at home and were eager to help if we needed it. The use of the kayaks was perfect. We used them to snorkel the reef and collect lobster and fish for dinner. Over all a wonderful stay. If you want crowded streets and touristy activities - This is not your place. The home is located several miles from town but close enough to not feel isolated.

Great Place to stay!
The Treehouse was perfect for us! My husband and I travelled with his brother and girlfriend and we truly enjoyed our stay. The accomodations were perfect and the view was stellar! It is a little bit outside of San Pedro but we rented a golf cart and were able to get around just fine. We actually enjoyed spending most of our time on the North side of the island rather than in San Pedro anyway! Rubio was also wonderful. He made a fabulous dinner for us one night and even helped the boys pick coconuts so we could enjoy fresh coconut milk. The treehouse was a great experience start to finish!

This has been a most pleasant stay.
From day one until the last day, other than the weather, which was wetter than we expected...and outside human control, everything went very smoothly. From Rubio, the caretaker, to angela, the maid, to Mary and the group at Caye Management the service was excellent. Even downtown everyone was friendly and helpful; no one seemed to be gouging the tourists more than would be expected. We especially enjoyed being away from the noise of the town area. The gentle sounds of the ocean and the cool breezes through open windows made the nights restful. We opted for travel by golfcart. Yes, the road is pretty rough, but I liked the ability to just go right now without waiting for the Coastal express. And, yes, we are well above the "40 or so" mentioned by Lorna. Advice...don't pack a lot of clothes. This is T-shirt and sandal country. (You might also want to wear some shorts beneath the shirt.) If you really want to dress up, wear a shirt with a collar. You will more than likely buy some T-shirts (from $12.50 us to $20) anyway and if you want "Island" shirts Caribe Creations can make them for you (in one day) cheaper than you can buy them back home. No shirt...No shoes...No problem!

Great house with many ammenties!
I just returned from staying at the Tree House with 3 of my friends. We very much enjoyed the town and the house. There are 2 spacious bedrooms with a double bed in each and a large futon. The bathroom was large and the kitchen had everything you would need, including a coffee maker, blender, dishes, etc. I liked all of the small details, such as candles in all of the room, lanterns, an iPod dock, and kayak. The location is secluded but transportation was easy with the water taxi. Make sure you get a breakfast burrito from the man who comes by on the beach in the morning. Also, we had a blast with Gene and Randy, the neighbors will take you on a private water outing!

Great get away!
Before traveling, I always read the reviews, but I never write them. I wanted to do my part and write a review about our recent trip to The Treehouse. First of all, this is a different kind of trip, this is not a resort, and the Treehouse is not in the middle of all the “action.” Know that going in. Our trip was just my wife and I. You could go with another couple, but it could be a little tight. Would be fine for a family. Caye Management was great. They had everything set up for our arrival and our arrival to Ambergris Caye was very smooth. The only issue we had was there was no one to greet us at the Treehouse. We got dropped off at the dock and kind of felt like we were dropped in the middle of nowhere. We got our bearings quick and had no problems. Also know that Ambergris Caye is not really for “beaching,” it is much more for relaxing, snorkeling and diving. The Treehouse was very clean and well maintained. It had great AC for sleeping at night, wifi, cable and all the other comforts. There was a 2 person kayak which we used to paddle to the reef for snorkeling. This was awesome! We also met Genie the neighbor who took us on a snorkel trip, also awesome. He is a bit more expensive than the outfits in town, but was much more convenient. You get picked up right at your dock. We also loved the “burrito guy” who comes by every morning at 9 with amazing food, and Esvin the jewelry guy who came by with very cool stuff. There was some restaurants close by which we walked to for dinner (bring a flashlight), and great places in town as well. In town, Lilly’s on the water was one of our favorites. We ate at the Matte Grande grocery a couple times. They have a BBQ outside daily and have a small but complete stock of stuff. This is very close to the Treehouse. We also loved the Ak’Bol yoga retreat! We did 9am yoga a couple times and then enjoyed their amazing food. They have the best coconut French toast ever! We also rented a golf cart for the week. This is a bit of an expense, but we thought it was worth it for the flexibility. The road to town (San Pedro) was extremely bumpy and took about 25 min one way. You would only want to make the trip once a day. All said this was an AMAZING vacation, we loved the Treehouse and Ambergris Caye, the people were incredibly friendly, everyone spoke English, we could use American money, and we always felt safe. It was truly unforgettable!

Glad you enjoyed the Tree House! REALLY sorry about the glitch about you not being shown up to the house. Armando, the guy who usually meets guests in San Pedro was off that day and the new guy didn't understand the drill. This has now been corrected. Hope to see you back on Ambergris Caye in the future. Island Living!
From the first cup of great Belizean coffee on the veranda each morning to falling asleep by the sound of rustling palm leaves, our 2 week stay at the tree house was extremely relaxing. We loved the long walks on the miles of sandy beaches, stopping for a lunch or drinks along the way. Every walk was a different adventure. During our first walk we met a local on bicycle selling fish and lobster tails. He then periodically came by the house with his fresh catch which we cooked on the grill. Eating fish that was caught only hours before is epicurean delight! Our arrival was made easy by armando who picked us up at San Pedro airport and transported us by boat to the tree house. Before boarding the boat, he took us to a supermarket where we bought our initial supplies. The ride on armando's boat through the mangroves and along the ambergris Caye was a wonderful introduction to the area. The house is well situated near a costal water taxi stop that took us to San Pedro for restaurants, shopping or ferries to Caye Caulker. It was also an easy and lovely walk along the beach to nearby restaurants, each affording us outdoor seating under the palms looking out at the reef, where we enjoyed the excellent local beer and food. Close by is Matte Grande, a surprisingly well stocked store where we purchased our food. The owners were very friendly, providing delivery right to the house as well as being a wealth of information about what to see and do. Don't miss the delicious weekend barbecue, right beside the store. The kayak at the house provided us with easy access to the nearby barrier reef for swimming and snorkeling. We went on an amazing snorkeling boat trip to Hoi Chan Canyons Marine Resort and Shark and Ray ally with Coral Reef Divers. Genie, the diver-owner and a neighbor, and his crew provide a wealth of information about marine life and local lore. But best of all, was experiencing relaxing island living. We will come back!
