The sprawling villa was designed by award winning Australian architect Madeleine Blanchfield, with multi-generational adventures in mind and is ideal for a family reunion, a group of friends or even a couple who wants a small 'resort' to themselves. The villa is comprised of seven separate buildings on two levels. The inviting kitchen, chic lounge, spacious master bedroom and entertainment deck with infinity pool comprise the upper level. The breezy master bedroom opens to an ocean-view deck and a private tropical garden. It offers spacious closets, dual sinks set on a raintree slab, an indoor rainbath shower and separate toilet, soaking tub and an outdoor garden shower under the stars. The lower level, connected by a 30 meter pathway through stands of towering bamboo, houses four bungalows organized in sets of two with each set comprising two rooms with a shared bath. Each bath has a rainbath shower and separate toilet. Two bungalows have queen beds and two have king beds that can each be converted to 2 single beds, enabling the villa to comfortably sleep 10. In addition, we have infant cots available. Every bungalow opens to an ocean-view private veranda. We are pleased to welcome you home with nourishing and nurturing gourmet fare. In fact, our name 'Tavola' honors the indigenous, medicinal grand-dame Tavola tree of Fiji, as well as the Italian phrase 'a tavola' meaning 'family table'. It is the memories and connections created when we gather as family over meals that makes life so very precious. To your accommodation booking we add a per person daily meal plan ($70USD adult, $55USD children ages 4 to 12, children 3 and under free) which features our South Pacific Fusion cuisine and includes hot breakfast, two-course lunch or custom-packed picnic, three-course dinner and snacks and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day. We are pleased to adapt the menus to your dietary preferences. There are two beautiful formal eating areas, one indoor and one outdoor, each with expansive views of the bay and the lush green mountains beyond. The open-concept kitchen is a chef's dream with a separate food preparation area, and there is the choice to have food prepared in a conventional oven, large wood-fired pizza oven, gas bbq, or Weber bbq. It is well equipped with two dishwashers, two refrigerators, as well as expansive cupboard and counter space. There is a traditional lovo pit (Fijian earthen oven) at the rear of the house which also has a spit bbq and a separate outdoor dining area set in lush surrounds. Located amidst the sheltering branches of an enormous rain tree is a massage cabana. And down the path to the beach you'll discover a fairy tree house. The boat shed is located at the water level and houses kayaks and snorkeling gear, included for use during your stay. There is also the option to hire our captained 23-foot skiff Ossus (a Star Wars nod to the owner's time working at Lucasfilm) which can be used for fishing, free diving and water sports. The boat hire with Captain Jack who expertly guides guests to phenomenal reefs and shy sandbars for picnics is available for an additional $110USD per day, minimum 3 days, including 2 tanks of fuel. There is a playing field with expansive views to the rear of the villa where guests can enjoy volleyball, basketball, footy and the like, and there are activities to delight even the most energetic children such as trampoline, flying fox, and rope swings. At the villa you will find yoga gear for your use consisting of mats, blankets, blocks and straps. Truly, there is no more inspiring place to revive and get into your yoga groove than the native vesi decks of Tavola overlooking Savusavu Bay. Magic. Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. Maximum group size is 10 adults or 6 adults and 4 children, plus infants. Exceptions may be made for small variations to this. Dates can be reserved by paying a 30% deposit.More

Interaction with guests
Dedicated staff offer true Fijian hospitality and cater to your every desire -- house manager and concierge, personal chef and pastry chef, personal boat captain (if you opt to add private boat hire), personal masseuse (if you opt to add massages), and groundskeeper and house staff. In addition to all the on-property activities on offer, we are delighted to recommend and arrange local excursions. So many of our guests enjoy a trip to a Fijian village, hiking to a waterfall, a picnic and swim at the meteor-created saltwater Blue Lagoon, a stroll through the Savusavu market, a traditional dance performance at the villa and other exciting ways to make your holiday special and share the beauty of a heart-centered culture with your children.

About the neighbourhood
Savusavu is affectionately called Fiji's 'hidden paradise' and is located in pristine northern Fiji where you will find an authentic and peaceful Fiji experience. We are remote yet accessible, and perfect for guests who value their privacy and want to cocoon together and venture out for special excursions. If you're keen to really explore from your base at Tavola Fiji, we can plan a day trip for you to the garden isle of Taveuni where you can stand on both sides of the international dateline and explore the native, organic gardens of Gaia Tree Sanctuary. Another exceptional experience is a day trip and hike to remote petroglyphs that legend says were created by an advanced race of man who had mastered time.
Getting around
We will pick you up at our local airport (Savusavu or Labasa), so there's no need for a car. Once you're with us, we're happy to arrange private transfers as your plans require.
