San Telmo's elegant residences were built during Argentina's heyday in the early 1900s. Today, San Telmo is the artsy, bohemian quarter. Casa Bohemia, a four-bedroom apartment that takes up an entire floor, represents both sides of San Telmo: the artsy bohemian, and the faded elegance. Four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a massive kitchen, long hallways and a living room and dining room with French doors that open up to show you the rooftops of San Telmo, this home is one entire floor of a gorgeous turn-of-the-century residence. There are three double beds and one queen. The room with the queen bed also has an en-suite bathroom. We provide sheets and towels. We can accommodate up to eight guests. Each bedroom has its own air conditioner. Tango-inspired paintings and vintage furnishings will remind you of the fabulous antique stores and flea markets you'll find all over San Telmo. The location is perfect. We're on Peru Street, between Independencia and Estados Unidos. From the juliet balconies, you can see the famous Mercado de San Telmo and the top of the San Pedro Telmo church near Plaza Dorrego. The street fair on Sundays is two blocks away on Defensa. One block up is Chacabuco Street. We love the changes happening here. There's an awesome tapas and vermouth bar, a small theater for live music, a couple of fancy restaurants, a beautiful carniceria. And on our block is the city's most popular British pub and an amazing English-language bookstore where they even teach literature classes. It's the center of culture. We love it. And we'd be delighted to have you stay with us in Casa Bohemia! THINGS TO NOTE: To get to the bedroom with the queen bed and en-suite bathroom, you have go through another bedroom (seen in photos). As such, there is less privacy in the bedroom that leads to the master. Sofas squeak and some upholstery has torn on one sofa. The beds do not squeak and the mattresses are not old. There is no television. All old buildings, they get dusty fast. If you want modern, this place is not for you. More

My wife and I stayed a full 7 nights with another couple in Casa Bohemia, and we all agree that we would insist on staying there, again, should we return to BA. The apartment is unbelievably large and the pictures really don't do it justice....More

About the neighbourhood
San Telmo is a really popular neighborhood. There is a weekly street fair on Sundays, an outdoor millinga (tango dance floor) in Plaza Dorrego on Sunday nights, tons of antique stores and boutiques, a whole slew of new restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs. It's a vibrant, up-and-coming area known for its bohemian, vintage vibe.
Getting around
We tend to take the bus or a taxi more than the subway just because of convenience. To take public buses you will need the SUBE card. We have one for you in the apartment. You can also use it on the subway. In my guide to the city, I outline transportation tips and include two great maps that will help you get your bearings. I highly recommend getting the app Como Llego. It's super helpful. You can put in the two addresses and it will give you a variety of options for getting from Point A to B.
